I cannot say enough kind things about Toyota Central City in West Philadelphia and would especially like to shout out employee Jamel Britt for his professionalism, helpfulness, and kindness. I bought my first car last week. Upon arriving at the dealership, Jamel greeted me with a friendly smile and walked me through the PA state law associated with car inspections and registration post-purchase, suggesting that I get a used car diagnostic in the meantime. Jamel estimated a 2-hour time window for the diagnostic. I sat in the dealership's clean, comfortable waiting room and sure enough, the diagnostic was completed within the expected timeframe. Jamel sat at the table I where I was sitting and gave me the good news - that my used Prius passed its diagnostic with flying colors. He made my whole day, and the employee who checked me out at the cashier's desk before I left was equally great. Every employee at this dealership greeted me with a smile. Whatever you are doing at this garage to keep your employees happy and well-trained, keep doing it, and please give Jamel a raise! He deserves it. He truly went about and beyond for this first-time car buyer.

I think I had the best advisor in the place Joshua Sheppard. 5 stars review Central City Toyota got me in and out. Joshua was patient and understanding. He went above and beyond to ensure my car was repaired in reasonable time. Joshua was very educated and aware of his job duties. Thank you so much ? Joshua in the service department team for going that extra mile. The Service was great and location was clean and Joshua S. presentation was on point.

The dealership was great to me the car I bought and 2021 January that Kia lasted about three years before it needed any repairs or anything concerning the vehicle I was happy with the kia that I was sold however 2023. I had a mystery person run in the back of me in total out my Kia so State Farm paid me out for the vehicle so I went back to central city Toyota 48th and Chestnut and got another vehicle from them which was a 2016 Honda Civic however I’ve been having problems with the vehicle ever since I bought the vehicle for them for around $14,000 I’ve had the vehicle for like a month and a half now and there’s something wrong with the vehicle every turn even though it’s nothing major at this point but another review that I’ve read concerning central City Toyota is that they do not check the cars before they sell them to people so that is very true. they need to check the vehicles at every turn before they sell them to people and they put those inspection stickers on them. July 2024 Toyota 48th and Chestnut Philadelphia Pennsylvania kept working on the vehicle to everything became satisfactory. They work with me. They share for me around back-and-forth to my place back-and-forth to the dealership until everything was ago. Thanks Toyota.

He explained everything about how to operate everything in the car.He took his time with me no rush.He made suggestions but did not pressure me . I really appreciated that. If you want a good experience at buying a car see Maurice Ross at Central City Toyota.

Thank you so much to Manny Truong for being such an awesome salesman and making the process of buying my new Toyota rav 4 suv a smooth breeze. He was very thorough and patient with me as I’ve had so many questions. All the other team members chimed in and helped me along the way. Overall I had such an amazing experience as a first timer here and I would highly recommend everyone to go here to purchase their vehicle.

Not sure what the point is in making appointments with them, I waited over 2.5 hours for a regular maintenance appointment. At no point while waiting did I receive any check in or update. Also since when is maintenance almost $300?? I get serviced at Toyota for the better experience. For what I experienced today, I could have gotten serviced at a regular shop for 1/3 of the price, which is what I’ll be doing next time.

I had an awesome and pleasant experience with Central City Toyota. I did all of my preliminary work at home before venturing to the dealership. A big round of applause to Manny TRUONG. He sent requested info. via text and answered my many questions and addressed my concerns before I came in for a test drive. I was under the impression that I was corresponding with a dealership Internet rep. But to my surprise it was the actual sales person ( product specialist) who took me through the process from beginning to end. When I arrived, I met a kind, respectful and very knowledgeable person. Not a pushy sales person. Thank you MANNY TRUONG for the insurance assistance. You’re the BEST.

Unless your sure read up on the purchase Don't leave a down payment because if you do you will be sorry. Beware of the service writer and know this its about your Money, they are not your friends It's Business, they are there to get your money. When the car leaves the lot its about the next sucker oh I mean customer watch your credit or debit card we are going to court now because they will give you services that you didn't ask for, they took $1200.00 from my account I got it back but we are going to court about their actions.

I went in for a recall repaint 3 times in the last 4 years and my paint is chipping again one month later. Nice employees but can’t seem to fix this persistent issue and refuse to offer another color out of necessity. Clearly this color is defective, and they won’t advocate for the problem to be permanently solved. The amount of time I’ve spent coming back, leaving work to handle this issue, being carless, and waiting for my vehicle will never be made up, and unfortunately I’ll have to do it again as I predicted. They also left my car very dusty. The two stars are for the desk employees being nice.

Unfortunately, after purchasing a car from this group of dealerships, the service manager on multiple occasions provided terrible customer service. Jamie Haberle, perhaps needs some Diversity Equity and Inclusion learning to understand how to properly handle his cognitive biases. I was shown no inclusion of diversity, in response to my concerns…
If I wasn’t an observant person, I would have been getting very taken advantage of and paying more unnecessarily.
I purchased my Toyota RAV4 October 5,2019 from Ardmore Toyota, I’ve been getting service with Toyota Ardmore or Central City since purchasing the car.
The first bad experience I had was on May 5,2021 I was charged $421 for an additional service contract off prepaid maintenance, however there was another listed price at $249 for the same service contract. Upon working with Jamie Haberle, he was rude and dismissive, after much back and forth I was finally refunded $150, for the dealerships mistake.
October 4,2022 my car broke down, the check engine light came on and I was unable to drive, I took it to central city and was told that this was a part of the recall on my model of car, I had received a “2019-2020 RAV4 HV vehicle refueling performance” letter previously and have kept for my records. Central city replaced the fuel injector at cylinder 2 along with a spark plug. The fuel injector and rental car were all covered due to warranty, I paid for the spark plug part and labor was also covered under the warranty. This was a more smooth experience.
September 29,2023 my car broke down again with the same symptoms, no acceleration past 30mph and the check engine light came on, I was unable to drive and had to get it towed. Since I had gotten the fuel injector pump replaced in 2022, there had been a rough idling since and I had also received some messages pop on on the cars dashboard, I mentioned this when bringing it in to have service throughout 2023 but it was never properly addressed.
Wednesday of the following week, I come to check on my car, the service is claiming that I must have gotten “bad gas” however when I asked for them to provide documentation and proof that this problem is from “bad gas” or what test are preformed to evaluate the “gas”, Huge the shop Forman didn’t have a definitive answer, ultimately Hugh, Jamie, told me to go through my insurance company and pay my deductible to get the car fixed. I asked why it’s been 5 days for the to figure out what’s wrong with the car and was met with a dismissive even disrespectful response and attitude.
Without documentation or a proper way to test Gas, I’m not sure how you can make an accusation about ”bad gas” when the cars error codes and parts that were replaced a year ago and needs the exact same. One injector, the one that was replaced by central city exactly a year ago has gone bad. If I had gotten “bad gas” wouldn’t all the injectors be ruined?
Never the less he denied facts and even put notes into the system so that I was unable to get this covered by the warranty they used previously.
Update: I called Toyota customer service they agreed that it SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED BY CENTRAL CITY.
I was given a $150 voucher for the inconvenience from Toyota Corporate.
