Brickbat Books is a lovely, well curated bookstore in the heart of South Philly, described as the best bookstore in the city and a favorite book store in Philadelphia. It is an incredible, magical little shop with a cozy, homey neighborhood professor's feel. The shop offers an extensive and best selection of books, including art and photography books, obscure vintage publications, indie vinyl, precious finds at all price points, coffee table books, and deep thinkers. Children's books are in front with more cerebral stuff in the back. It is really about the books here, not a lot of extra junk around. Visitors always find something interesting, often spending more than an hour just looking and browsing. Everyone there is extremely kind and helpful, supporting and caring deeply about the community. It is the kind of place you can lose yourself in, a beautiful thing where books find new hands. The only noted wishes are for it to be bigger with more art books and for better accessibility.
Great collection of new and used books. I always find at least 4 non fiction books I want to take him for sure
