Nice location to go hide, and get some reading done. You can use the readign room to just read and chill, and the staff are very helpful.

The place gives you more of a feel that you're meeting at a family friend's house then a regular bookstore. They have a great selection of books for all ages and genre interest. And they have an area where you can go and have tea and coffee while enjoying your book/magazine.

This bookstore has been a balm to my soul on so many occasions over the past, I don’t know, maybe 10 or 15 years since I found it? And it just keeps getting better! Every time they renovate, there is something new and even more magical. They took the time during the worst of the Pandemic, when they had to restrict access, to re-do both the children’s room on the basement level, and to open up the second floor into a Reading Room (no purchase required! Free tea! Cozy, eco-friendly, comfortable furniture! A backyard nook with native plants!). I can’t tell you how amazing it is to have a place my kids and I can visit just to be somewhere nice, out of the house, surrounded by beautiful things and, of course, books. And let’s talk about the books. They have a fantastic selection of children’s, YA, and adult books, with an emphasis on LGBTQ friendly, a large selection of poetry, excellent non-fiction, excellent choice of fiction and Sci-Fi. Good birding and gardening books. Cookbooks and Baking books. They are not a large space, but I can rest assured that I will always- always! See something new I want to explore. And they are also a go-to place for gifts, because they have a great selection of cards, stickers, mugs, magnets, and jigsaw puzzles, plus neat baby toys that make me wish I still had a baby to shop for. This place is a precious gem. I hope it will always be there for me.

I live nearby and have been shopping there for 8 years. They have an excellent selection of books for the size of their store. They are especially good with feminist, lgbt, and anti-racist books, as well as children's books, and environmentalist books. I'm a professor who teaches the first three topics and I regularly find books that I had been thinking about buying and books I didn't know existed. But there are also some problems with this store. Iza and Alison are right that not all of the employees are friendly. And their frequent customer discount program is so flawed that it should probably be discontinued. I have been going out of my way to buy from them and order with them. I want to support local independent stores. Recently, I have been buying more trying to make my way up to $150 (this is the second time) -- this time I was shopping extra recently to receive the discount for when my sister was visiting with her 3 year old, figuring that she'd pick out a lot of books and toys for her. She did ($125 worth). I had been at about $100 before this shopping trip. But because I reached the $150 mark during that shopping trip, I wasn't allowed to split the purchase into two and use the discount on the remaining items. Also, my sister from out of town wasn't allowed to pay and have her sales added to my card (even though we explained that I'm the frequent customer and she'd never have come to this store unless I had brought her there while she was visiting me from hundreds of miles away). That was a bummer. But I tried to give them another chance when I wrote and published a book I knew they'd be interested in stocking and maybe having an event. I reached out over email reintroducing myself. No reply. I'm done trying.

A warm, welcoming space filled with all the books I want to buy and friendly employees who can help recommend a book, or order anything they don’t have in stock for you. Especially good children’s and LGBTQI+ selection.

Fabulous selection of books, including huge kid section. Large LGBTQ selection, multiple books with characters of color, carefully curated by experienced staff. And if you can't make it to their store, order online by clicking on their website and going to the bookshop.org website, really easy and also supports the book store. I love this store.

Nice neighborhood bookstore!! They'll order anything they don't have in stock and will have it in a couple of days. They worked out a great curbside program during the pandemic. I've been shopping with them for three or four years. It's so nice to have an indie brick and mortar bookstore to support!!

Great local bookstore! Lots of stuff in stock, and they are always happy to order something for you or give you some recommendations. In this time of COVID, they are doing a great job limiting people in the store at a time as well as being available via phone and email for book ordering and questions.

Love shopping local and the store is adorable! They don’t often have the book I’m looking for, but it’s easy to order, they respond to email quickly, and their contactless pickup during the pandemic has worked flawlessly.
