Unique store that kept us looking and discovering items we hadn’t seen previously.

I just got this Louis XVI beauty so needed between my Mother's heirloom chairs, Antique Showcase has it all! The comments here are so stupid ... I have been visiting this store regularly for the last three years, and the owners are an old gay couple. and they have two small dogs. I love what they have, impressive chandeliers, beautiful French mirrors, tables, and chairs, I haven't seen many of these anywhere in Philadelphia. It's an impressive collection. The amount of stuff is overwhelming, they let me roam the store freely, taking my time to look at everything. Because, Ingo to look at the furniture, not to look at them. they are not rude, they engage me in conversation, they ask questions, they talk to me about their pieces, they suggest things, and one of them even makes jokes. I learned they are a gay couple, and they have been together for over 1000 years. They are frankly beautiful Anyway, I don't go to an antique store to visit the owners, I go to look at their stuff and buy antiques. Simple, I suggest you do the same. GROW UP people

I adore this antique store. I have purchased 5 or 6 items ranging in price from $1500 to $12,000. the higher priced items were marble fireplace surrounds and gorgeous chandeliers. if I had more room in my home I would buy many more things. this is a 10 out of 10 place and dan and dean have been wonderful to me over the years. Ageist owners and won’t allow younger adults into their store. I’ve attempted to check it out twice and was told that they were “closed” when they were clearly open. Don’t bother wasting your time if you look younger than 50.

Honestly, visiting this store was the most uncomfortable interaction I've ever had with a stranger in my entire life. The sign on the door said they were open and to ring the bell, so I rang the bell. A man came to the door and when he opened it he just said "yes?" My girlfriend asked him if we could look around, and he said "ok" and opened the door. About 30 seconds after we entered the store the man took the "open" sign off the door and started asking us questions about our purpose for coming in (?) in a suspicious/borderline hostile tone. He asked us if we lived in the neighborhood and when we said we were just visiting, he said "then what is your purpose for coming here?" Once again, my girlfriend said we were just looking, and the man replied "so you're not interested in the things?" I assured him that we were in fact interested in the items the store was selling, and he walked away from us to the back of the store without saying anything. At this point we were so uncomfortable that we decided to leave. To be polite, we thanked the man, and he sarcastically shouted "HOPE YOU LIKED IT!" as we were walking out the door. It was like he was upset at us for coming to the store (even though they were clearly open - the sign was flipped to "open", all the lights were on, and music was playing over the loudspeaker)? We were in the store for fewer than 5 minutes total, and I honestly can't remember a single thing we looked at because the man working there was so off-putting. It's a shame because my girlfriend and I love visiting antique shops whenever we're on vacation. The whole thing was just so bizarre!

I had some time before a workout and decided to go into the shop and explore. I grew up in a house full of antiques and have a huge appreciation for them and was looking for a possible Mother's Day gift. The owners were beyond rude when I walked in. First thing said was, "you better be careful with that drink" as I was carrying an empty small Starbucks cup. The tone and demeanor was so irate and rude that I left after a few minutes when no one asked if I wanted assistance or had questions. It was simply just three grumpy individuals sitting and seeming perturbed that I was interrupting a conversation. I'm very big on customer service and hope they will treat other customers better.

I had a horrible experience at this place of business. I took a lamp in to be wired...simple job. The owner quoted me a price of $10 and assured it would be ready in 2 hours. After 2 phone calls, 3 excuses and 24 hours I was able to pick up my lamp. Moments later I recieved an irate phone call from the owner stating I owed him more money because he did me a favor by doing the work and only charging me $10. When I refused the owner attempted to belittling me by telling me that my profession is not a real job and I don't know what real work is. In business when you give a price and a completion time live by it and don't change the price after a customer picks up the merchandise and leaves.
