I've come to the Acme Pharmacy on Crittenden for shots for several years and they've always been professional, fast, and friendly. Yesterday a staff member went above and beyond. My doc's office had let me know that I was overdue for two shots (when's the last time *you* had a tetanus shot?!) so I called the pharmacy to confirm that they could do them both and went during the hours they do injections. It was a Friday - I wanted a couple of days to recoup if I had a reaction - and was disappointed when their computer showed that they had one dose left of one shot but it wasn't on the shelves. One of the pharmacists said that they weren't busy and offered to go to another Acme pharmacy right then to get it. He was back in 15 minutes, I got my shots, and am very thankful for his generosity.

I saw a mouse in the Chestnut Hill store tonight. It was about 5 feet away from me, and then ran down one of the center food aisles. I am so grossed out.

I've been a customer for 20 years at this store and never been treated as poorly as I was today. I will not return. There are enough other Acmes in the area that appreciate their customers.

I used to hate the idea of self-checkout because I thought it was wrong to take away jobs from hard working people. I'm still fine with a store not having these machines, but this Acme needs to either install self-checkout or staff more cashiers. Otherwise, I will not be back.

The only thing good about this grocery store is the location. When I first moved to the area, I tried to use it as my primary grocery store, but grew frustrated by the high prices, lack of selection, and regularly purchasing expired items. It's still there when I need a last minute item, but I try to avoid it at all costs.

I live in the neighborhood of west mount airy and I shop here regularly. They have everything you need in terms of basic grocery shopping. The place looks reasonably clean and there are always plenty of parking available. The main problem is the lack of organic food options and the high price of items compared to other grocery stores. Besides shopping at acme, I also order food for delivery using amazon fresh and Whole Foods delivery. The amazon fresh has the exact same items for less than acme and it gets delivered to your doorsteps. Surprisingly, even Whole Foods is sometimes cheaper for comparable items and it's much healthier for you. I honestly only shop here if I ran out of a certain item already (milk, etc.) and it's too late to get it ordered/delivered on time through amazon.
