Ordered an armoire for an upstairs bedroom from the retailer and advised that it would need to be brought upstairs by the delivery service. Price, delivery charge and delivery date were agreed, but when the delivery service arrived, the service would not bring the armoire upstairs. So, I rejected the order (wouldn't even see the armoire or let it be brought off the truck. The good news is that the retailer accepted the armoire back and credited my credit card (though wouldn't do so until it received the armoire, which was not right). The bad news is that the retailer offered to re-deliver the armoire and have it brought upstairs for about twice the original delivery charge (when the delivery charge already was high for my region) and offered only a limited price reduction on the armoire (not as much as the increase in the "new" delivery charge - only a few hundred bucks in issue). So, I said "no.". This probably is a responsible retailer because it took the armoire back and credited its price. However, I would have been more impressed if it had done so immediately instead of waiting to receive the armoire back and if it had stuck to the original deal and absorbed the full increase in the "new" delivery charge rather than only part of the "new" delivery charge.

Forwarded several inquiries about pieces they were marketing on eBay and Etsy, never received a response. Apparently this is a dubious entity, not a reputable Dealer. Won't waste anymore time with these people.

A pleasure to deal with Stenella, and the two Bergere chairs I bought online from them are gorgeous - I could not be more pleased. Also, the shipping service they use, DND Express Moving, was outstanding.

I bought a dining set from this crew and it's hard for me to know whether they misrepresented their product or whether the shipper damaged my items in transit. Most likely both parties have responsibility here. I'm not sure I would call them "rude" in their post-sale interactions with me; let's say "curt" and completely lacking in empathy, shall we? I was really offended when they blamed me for the condition in which I found their furniture. While the boss there offered to restore the table and chairs to the condition depicted in sales photos, round-trip shipping would be my responsibility. Had they said "we are so sorry you had this experience, please accept this 25% discount certificate," I might have given them another chance...different shipper for sure! Instead, I'll never buy there again. No need to spend thousands and then have my honor questioned. Overall, very unpleasant experience. Caveat emptor.

The chairs we bought from Stenella were exactly as described and in mint condition. So excited to have them and they perfectly complete our set. But the thing that sets Stenella apart from the competition is amazing customer service. The people in the office were professional and helpful. The chairs were shipped quickly and the delivery person called several times in route to keep us informed of his progress and when he would arrive. Highly recommend doing business with these professional antique specialists.
