Horrible place. My grandfather is a disabled veteran and needed help with food. The VA gave me their info and said they would help him. I called to see if I could pick up the food for him. The lady asked where he lived. I told her she said I needed to go to another place. To get help. I explain to the lady I only had a vehicle on certain days and today was the day that I had a vehicle. The food pantries were all closed. She did not care. I was there earlier with a girlfriend of mine we live right next door to each other and she was able to get her box of food for the month.So my question to the lady was why do you give one person that lives in the same area help, but not my grandfather a disabled veteran? A 76-year-old man needed help with food. He only has 1 day's worth of food left at home. My grandfather went and fought for this country for our freedom. The very first time he's ever asked for help. He gets turned away. When they just helped a lady that lives next door to him. Why are they going to help 1 but not the other? They never even offered any numbers to get my grandfather any emergency food. I cannot fathom this in my brain at all. I thought a food pantry was out to help the citizens who needed help. Especially a disabled veteran who went and fought for our country. Immediately when I came home I sent them an email. It is 9:14 at night and I have yet to receive an email phone call or anything from them. I hope they can sleep tonight knowing that my grandfather only had one day of food left. The lady that I spoke with had no compassion at all. My grandfather went and fought for this country. He was willing to lay his life on the line for his country . For us to have our freedom. If this is how our veterans are treated when they come back from war. I do not want to hear that you guys do not help this area when you just served his next-door neighbor. I know this for a fact because I took her to get the food. I think that this is a double standard. I reached out to the VA and let them know what happened. It is honestly pathetic and ashamed. I am sorry for such a long review.
