Good selection of vehicles at a good price

I went to Yingst Automotive when considering the purchase of a quality pre-owned vehicle because they have a solid reputation in the community for having quality, good condition vehicles at fair prices. The owner of Yingst Automotive is a true enthusiast and takes pride in his inventory.
After doing significant research on what would be the best new daily driver for me, I found a good example on the Yingst Automotive lot. After an independent 3rd party PPI was completed, a deal was made for the vehicle. The process was thorough and seamless.
This is a valuable business member of the community, that is run with integrity and honesty. I am very satisfied with the vehicle and the interaction.
I would recommend anyone looking for a quality pre-owned vehicle for their life, strongly consider Yingst Automotive.

I bought BMW X3 here back at the end of June. I only got to drive it in mid July due to being on vacation. The first 10 miles I put on the SUV the check engine light came on. I drove it back to my garage only to find oil all over the floor where I had it parked. I called Yingst and informed him of my troubles. He said get it checked out by my mechanic and let him know what they found. I called my BMW mechanic and made an appointment to take it in. He was so busy it took almost 3 weeks for him to look at it.When he finally looked at it, he found over a quart of gas in the engine oil from a faulty fuel pump. He also found it had a bad vacuum pump as well and leaking oil from the valve cover. The repairs took over a week because of waiting on parts. The repairs cost me over $2600.I dropped off a copy of the bill to a Yingst employee a few days later, he said the owner would take a look at it and give me a call. He did call a few days later telling me I took to long to inform him of the issues. He said he would look into the warranty he sold me with the car and told me he would let me know if they would cover any of the issues. It's been 2 weeks and I've never heard back from the owner.I'm writing this review so the public can be informed how I was treated. At this point it's not about the $2600 I spent on repairs. It's about someone stating they sell "quality" used cars and never hearing from them again when the buyer clearly informs him of problems.

Bought a 2016 VW Golf Sportwagen that was advertised online, on New Years Eve 2022. The car was advertised mentioning all of it's features and details, including the mileage and a very minor warranty (90 days/3k miles). I do not live local to this business, but made time for the drive in order to take an initial look. It was late in the day but was offered a test drive. So, I took it out. First glance, great car. It drove well and did not give me any immediate reason to hesitate. I did make an initial offer that was declined. I decided to sleep on it and a week later made an additional offer that was accepted. Granted, not all that much less than the asking price. I made another trip to the lot to make the purchase. Since then (7 months), I have had to replace the water pump, timing chain, had at least 3 oil leaks repaired, replaced the tires (cracked sidewalls), front left wheel bearing, plugs, and a few sensors replaced. And, I still need to have a software update performed at the dealership, coming up this week, to solve an EPC code issue that has occurred intermittently since buying the car. I even discovered a poorly repaired windshield crack that was hidden under the advertising signage, used for lot display, shortly after the purchase. Now, I get it, it's a used car. But, this a pretty extensive laundry list of things to go wrong and need addressed only 7 months past the point of purchase. The warranty did help with some of the cost ($1500), but the rest has been out of pocket. I own a business and do not have a lot of free time (my problem, not anyone else's). So, I'm gonna be the sort of buyer who depends on the honesty and knowledge of the person/place I'm buying from, just as my customers would expect from me. This was not my experience at Yingst Automotive. I am not telling anyone to not buy there. But, if you plan to, look closely. Then, look again. This is simply a "Buyer Beware" statement.*As a side note, I like the car. So, I was willing to spend the money to make all of these wrongs right. But, at this point, the car was bought/the money spent. So, I almost had to. I'm pretty sure I would not have gotten my money out of it, if I chose to sell it.

Excellent experience from start to finish! I just bought a 2012 Mini Cooper Roadster Convertible from Derek Yingst yesterday. The ad for the car was super detailed. Many, many pictures shown. He was very accommodating and easy to deal with. Drove 3+ hours to see the car & it was EXACTLY as represented! Bought it and drove it home! Highly recommend this used car dealer, especially if you're looking for a Mini!

Bought ‘02 VW for my daughter last week, easy & fair to deal with. Only complaint is that RR window regulator broke same night & when I had mechanic check car, rear brakes are shot. Besides these 2 issues, car is solid for being 20 years old & I’m happy with this purchase.**UPDATE**A few days after purchase the check engine light came on & it turned out to be a bad thermostat. Estimate ran over $500 thanks to diagnostics, coolant flush, part & labor. I called Derek about this & without hesitation, he offered to help pay it. When I e-mailed him the actual estimate, he offered to pay the entire repair. This is unheard of in the used car business & I’m blown away. Kudos to Derek for standing behind his vehicles & offering exceptional customer service….????????

Derek(who replied to my email inquiry) was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. Smart mouth and was trying to instigate me to “email argue” over an overpriced, uninspected ragtop that’s clearly been laying around since at least 2019.
I wouldn’t trust anything from someone who gets so defensive. If you don’t want a car questioned, don’t put pics of its inspection sticker on your website showing it expired 6/19. ?

I have bought two cars from Derek now and he was great to work with on both occasions. He was always professional, relaxed, and I never felt pressured. The car buying experience from Yingst Automotive was effortless and I can’t recommend it enough.
