My children found and caught a seagull with a broken wing, and at first I panicked not knowing what to do, but luckily I got into contact with the Philly metro wildlife center. They were friendly on the phone and in person, and they seemed genuinely concerned and vested in the animals. One would hope they would in their profession, right? I, for one, am happy to see it proven right and gave my kids peace of mind.
The location was very small and took a bit of doing to get turned around to leave, but a very minor complaint.

This center is a blessing to all wildlife. Unfortunately I had to experience this. My cat got ahold of a baby bunny and was harmed it. Broke my heart that my cat did this but I brought it to this center and they were fantastic. The staff was knowledgeable. They don’t pressure to donate to their center but I did to help out as much as I can.
I filled out a simple form and gave me info to follow up on the animal if I chose to with the case number.
They are old school so a lot of communication is still via phone and paper.
Overall we’re blessed to have a facility like this.

Found a screech owl that was injured on labor day weekend of course, called the Phila. Metro wildlife center and to my surprise they answered and told me to come right in. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks for the work you do.

This center truly cares about the wildlife you find and bring to them. They're very determined to help the wildlife that is injured and help rehabilitate it. Found this cute innocent bluejay in the middle of the road scared injured and helpless. Someone hit him and drove off, this center was 4-6mins down the road from where I had found this beautiful bird. I pray that this bird gets the help that it needs and survives its injuries! Will be following up most definitely. The staff was very friendly, caring and helpful. If you have the money please donate to this center! They truely care and are very passionate about helping the animals that come into their facility <3

Found a wounded squirrel in the city. Was going to take it to the closest rehab, but a friend who used to volunteer at the first philly metro location insisted I bring them farther out to Rick and Michele. Definitely worth driving out here to ensure animals get the best care. Rehabbers are stressed and busy people, and I appreciate the service they do for our wildlife and community. Thank you!

Caring & determined to care for the injured bird I brought in. They also answered the phone when I called. Convenient off of Township Line Road near Potshop. Address is Norristown, but easier to come up Trooper Rd. or Potshop.

This place has been so great about taking in wildlife. They do want to make sure it actually need their help before you remove or disturb the animals which is beneficial for everyone! They have been a great help!

They took in the baby squirrel I have found in my garden that otherwise wouldn’t have survived and I’m forever grateful for the amazing job they do at nurturing and rehabilitating those precious lives!! Those people make the world a better place, and give me hope in humanity ? they survive on donations so make sure you donate as well, those money are the most beneficial. Thank you !!

Called to get advice on a birds nest @ my community I manage, and was given a lecture instead. This is my first encounter with having a birds nest with eggs inside, and was met with the immediate question of “why would you move a birds nest?” Instead of answering the concern I had. It immediately made me feel stupid, and taken aback. I am simply following my company and their policy. We remove birds nests from people’s homes if they are disrupting every day living or in spaces they shouldn’t be (dryer vents, roofs, gutters, etc) so instead of being directed and educated, I was shunned for asking advice and given a very rude lecture. At one point she even said “I’m not slamming you or anything” but yes in fact you were. I am reaching out for advice on something I have zero experience with, you are meant to be the expert. You completely took that and made it a BAD experience. I even said “thank you” at the end to be kind, and was met with a click. Hung up on. Now when I have issues like this, I will hesitate to reach out in fear of being lectured and shunned. Shame on whoever answered my call @ 4:08pm on June 20th, 2024. Take a customer service refresher, and do better.

Awesome, awesome place. So lucky to have it in the neighborhood. We've taken displaced baby birds, a sickly raccoon, and an injured fawn here. They are extremely helpful, empathetic, and have decent hours.

Found this little Starling with no nest in sight, was able to speak with a team member at PMWC and they told me to bring it right up. After an intake sheet they whisked it back for some tender loving care. They give you a patient # so you can follow up to see how they are doing.

Brought them two baby birds that we found on the ground when doing yard work, the representative over the phone was professional, explained exactly what to do, and we brought them over to be rehabbed. Kind folks doing really great work. Consider donating to them if you can!!!
