“That place ceased being a pawn shop about 15 years as go and became a check cashing joint. Every crack fiend in the area used that place as a stolen goods exchange. Until the cops got real time inventory updates. Then the store started loosing money bc the cops take 3/4 of what's brought in as stolen. I've bought a few guitars there. They have some stuff in the store but it's all stupid over priced like it's not meant to sell. The employees do nothing but talk on phone. Last week I stopped in and the guy behind the counter was blatantly negotiating a 2 oz meth deal all loud on his phone as nonchalanty as we would order a pizza. Norristown is a different beast, I know a lot of people down there but I'd trust none with knowing I had cash in my pocket. I feel more at ease walking through Kensington at midnight.
