While we love historic hotels, we would not stay here again. Room 205 was actually fairly nicely decorated and bed very comfortable. The small folding table in the bathroom is not a replacement for a vanity. The water damage and mold is a constant problem in between the sink and shower and cannot be fixed by multiple layers of plaster. One window shade had several tears in it. The music noise from the restaurant was too loud and went until 11:00 pm. The problems with the showers have not been addressed in years and are terrible. I figured some reviews were several years ago and things have to be fixed… they are not. So the hotel responding they noted and will fix the concerns is likely to not be addressed. This hotel has so much potential for very little effort it seems a waste. It seems the restaurant is the priority and the hotel just not a concern.

Booked a room and had a family emergency the day of and was not able to use the room. I called and the person was less than sympathetic and just kept saying over and over “We cannot give refunds”. Well YOU CAN if you had any sympathy. DONT book a room here unless you know you won’t have a family or any other kind of emergency!!

Had a big family dinner, in general the food was very good, though I found the pasta that came with my meal was not fresh, that was disappointing. Desserts were good. It was hot the day when we ate there and the A/C could not keep up with the amount of people inside, so it was hot. Overall a good experience.

The hotel part was built in 1763. The restaurant, Roccos, is newer. The bar elegant. Food isn't cheap but not overpriced. I had honey glazed salmon with creamed leeks. My wife had a lobster roll. The wine list is solid. I've read some negative reviews, we found no mold, the bathrooms were updated with plenty of hot water. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Yes, in the hall part of the wallpaper was a little messed up, but nothing egregious. It is worth the price. The location is great in the town of Newtown. Easy walk to other restaurants, stores, and a small intimate cigar lounge. Washington's Crossing is close as are several wineries.

we love old and quaint Inns however this was not that. Our room was super small and that's fine however, the decor was awful, looks like from Walmart 1989. The linens and curtains were cheap crap and ugly along with the pictures on the walls. The paint was peeling off the walls and the window unit AC was being held by tape with lots of holes to let in the cold air and noise from the outside. The bathroom had no place to put your stuff, one small mirror that was too high for me to see my whole face in and 3 out of 5 lightbulbs were missing on the light fixture. Everything in the room was cheap and unattractive. The mattress was so uncomfortable and again cheap. I understand this place is old but there is no reason not to use nice bedding furniture and have a mirror in the room to see your clothing. This place was so disappointing in a nice affluent town like Newtown, clearly they have no standards and do not care about the Inn. There was also no staff for the Inn just people for the restaurant. Please just go on z Pinterest and learn how to decorate a room and make it attractive and functional!! I usually never review anything but felt in this instance it was necessary.

We saw this on Hotel Hell with Gordon Ramsey. It could've been a lot better, no phone in the room, warm water at best in the shower, bed was very springy.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Brick Hotel, and I must say, it was an unforgettable adventure for all the wrong reasons. To say that my visit was bizarre and nightmarish would be an understatement. The hotel's owner, a 69-year-old woman, left an indelible mark on my memory. With a lack of decorum, she seemed to think it was entirely appropriate to moon every guest she encountered. It's safe to say that her antics were not what I had in mind when I booked my stay.As I entered my room, it didn't take long for me to notice the pervasive, nauseating smell of mold that permeated the air. The dank and musty odor seemed to cling to every surface, making me wonder if the hotel had ever heard of cleanliness or basic maintenance. The walls and ceilings were stained with water damage, a testament to the ongoing neglect of the property.Things took a truly bizarre turn when I decided to explore the hotel's bar. There, I was greeted by a rather peculiar sight: rats leisurely lounging around, perched on stools, sipping drinks served by the bewildered bartender. The bartenders' indifference to this unusual clientele only added to the surreal atmosphere.Venturing down the hallways was equally unsettling. A local gang of clowns seemed to have taken up residence, their painted faces and colorful outfits adding an eerie, sinister aspect to the already dilapidated decor. I had to tread lightly and avoid making eye contact as I made my way to my room, not wanting to attract any unwanted clownish attention. As I reached my room, I was met with yet another unsettling experience. The stench was unbearable. It was a peculiar mixture of stale cigarette smoke, mildew, and something that can only be described as a putrid blend of various unidentifiable odors. It was as though the room had absorbed years of neglect and indifference. To make matters even more bizarre, the owner's son had a peculiar habit of poking guests with his rather sizable big toe as they passed by him. The uncomfortable and invasive toe-poking made me question the sanity of the entire family running this establishment. In summary, my stay at the Brick Hotel was a nightmare I would not wish upon my worst enemy. The rude owner, mold-ridden rooms, rat-infested bar, clownish gang, and toe-poking owner's son created an experience that I will not soon forget but never want to relive. If you value your sanity and wellbeing, steer clear of this peculiar and unsettling establishment.

Great location but rooms still not fully updated with very small but noticeable details- torn lampshades, bare bulbs in bathroom, napkins on top of tables!Bedding was comfortable a/c worked fine - all good and we are used to staying in historic old inns and like it. They just need to dress up the little (inexpensive!) details to match the beautiful downstairs and chic locale they are in. Duh!
