.bought a McCaffrey’ prepared Turkey hoagie that had cheese in it. The label did not mention cheese. I cannot eat cheese so I had take it apart. The label should tell what’s in it.

Just slightly overpriced but nice if you want something closer to whole foods in Newtown. Regular grocery shopping in Newtown is usually done at Acme for us.

Always our favorite supermarket for quality, freshness, and the people. The other day my wife lost her credit card and thought it might be at the store. "June", from Customer Service, went above any beyond in her efforts to recover the card. A locally owned supermarket is a rare thing these days, this one is a treasure.

I am very disappointed in my local Newtown McCaffrey grocery store. I had trouble at the register and the check out person took me to the manager. After telling the manager, Kathy my problem, she simply deleted and re rang up my purchase.threw the receipt at me without a word, no I'm sorry, not even a thank you. This was on Friday around 2:45 pm. I'll not likely go back since they're pricing is very high and confusing, which lead to the problem. I've lived here most of my 75 years.

Peaches, one day after purchase. I think they were previously frozen? They looked perfect on the outside that’s why I bought them but it’s misleading because they’re rotten on the inside :(

Great store unless you’re in a hurry. They rarely have enough cashiers. That said the meat department is the best in the area. Cheese department is great as well, always helpful with a good selection.

when my doctors gave me a bunch of food restrictions for all my health issues recently, I became incredibly overwhelmed.I’ve always had such a terrible relationship with food and knowing that I now have to be careful with everything I eat was much more than I was prepared to handle. I felt like my “can eat foods” list was so small and I had no idea where to even start.As always, I decided to keep it local and decided to bring in an expert into the mix! I reached out to McCaffrey’s Markets and ended up going on a food shopping trip at their Newtown market with their nutritionist, Jill.We spent time going up and down isles trying to find healthy items that fit in with my restrictions. What seemed to be such a daunting process on my own was so much easier with Jill’s help! I ended up leaving with a cart full of things that I didn’t even know I could eat!Jill is a licensed nutritionist, registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator. She offers:▫️free monthly nutrition programs on various topics (see the McCaffreys event calendar for more info)▫️group programs▫️free nutrition phone consultations▫️answers questions submitted via the “ask the expert” spot on the nutrition page of the McCaffreys website▫️weekly blogs posted on the McCaffreys website about various nutrition topicsI am so thankful to Jill for taking the time to help me along my new health journey.

Expensive is worth it. Would you rather pay $5.00 for something average or $9.00 for the above average. At McCaffrey's you'll either have to think about that question or not worry about the register amount. The store is merchandised well. The fruits and veggies have a great assortment and are usually really fresh. There are bakery, butcher, breads, seafood and cold cut counters. The store also has a good assortment of both hot and take home ready to eat meals. I find when I am looking for better choices of veggies, proteins, and fruit that McCaffrey's stands out. On staple products their prices might be a bit high for something you can get elsewhere. I can't forget the store is well staffed with friendly and attentive mcCaffrians. I give this super supermarket 5 stars for the overall positive boxes they check
