Giovanni's in Newtown is the perfect blend of old-school service and contemporary style. The folks at Giovanni’s made the process of renting formal attire a seamless and positive experience: Angela efficiently arranged our appointments and helpfully followed up with phone calls. Gina, the hands-on owner of the shop, deftly guided us through the many tuxedo and suit options available, while providing welcome advice on current fashion. Michael’s precise measurements and attentiveness meant the tuxedo fit perfectly when it arrived.From start to finish, what could have been an overwhelming process was instead delightful! I prefer patronizing small businesses, but the refreshing and meticulous care we received from the staff at Giovanni’s has galvanized my “shop-small” intentions when it comes to buying or renting menswear.Thank you to the lovely folks at Giovanni’s who shared their expertise & delivered outstanding service – we will return! ?

Gina is outstanding! I needed a new navy suit in a few days and she was able to meet my tight timeline. Although that accomplishment was noteworthy, the customer service she provided was remarkable. She made everything easy, offered several high quality options and truly provided white glove service. She also followed up to ensure I was happy with the tailoring. I've purchased clothes at Giovanni's for gifts too as they have many options. High quality clothes with terrific service!

Came in to have the lengths tailored on a couple pairs of pants. When my pants were returned I was surprised to see that the lengths of the pant legs did not line up, the stitching was crooked, and the hems were on a diagonal. The lady at the front was frustrated with me when I tried to complain but ended up offering to have them fixed. However the damage was done and the pants are now slightly too short on me. TL:DR paid $50 and ended up with two poorly tailored pants.

Make sure to understand their outlandish return policy before buying anything. Bought a tie that I hoped would match a suit for wedding, but was wrong on the color. When trying to return a little over a month, I was surprisingly told that I could only exchange for store credit within 2 weeks of purchase and no returns after 1 month……WHAT?!?!? The lady could care less and barely looked up from her cell phone to tell their ridiculous policy. I had tried to return a week earlier but they were closed for their own long weekend with a hand written sign on door. With such a unique return policy, I would hope they would give you a heads up at purchase. Nope just written on receipt, which no one reads. Will never return.

They were amazing to work with and made sure everything was perfect for his day, even answered an after hours text with a last minute problem and had pants there the next morning. Just bought a custom suit from here this year, and could hardly be more happy with it. We went through dozens and dozens of fabric samples and they had exactly what I had in mind before I went in the shop. Took great care of me and even adjusted another suit of mine. The price was comparable with the big names at department stores, but the fit was spot-on.If you stayed away from Giovanni’s because of previous bad experiences with poor service (mine had to do with a nasty response towards altering my Army uniform), it’s safe to go back — and Gina even gives a military and veteran discount!

Great place to shop for men's clothing! Gina and staff were working with me before the pandemic for some custom clothing I needed. She kept in contact during this whole shutdown and made sure that the items I need for a social function in the fall will be delivered in time. So many small local stores throughout the country are going to be lost in this crisis; Newtown make sure you don't lose this treasure.

Great selection but highly overpriced. In addition, the people who work there are obnoxious and flat out rude. The owner very condescending and talks down to you. It's a shame because the place has potential if only ran by someone who didn't assume that everyone has endless money to spend.

Dino was absolutely incredible! He was able to make alterations on a pair of denim jeans for me on short notice and with a fast turnaround time. I dropped the jeans off on Friday afternoon and Dino had them back to me by Saturday afternoon as I needed them for a work trip that Monday (they're closed on Sundays). The alterations were impeccable and gave my denim a perfect fit. I will always come back to Giovanni's because of Dino!
