“The care is excellent, the doctors and staff responsive. My best little Buddy ever became ill in August 2023 with an enlarged heart which eventually led to his passing on Christmas Eve morning of congestive heart failure. Although I thought I had prepared myself it was extremely difficult to experience. I was advised that eventually he would cap out with what could be done. The doctors and staff worked closely with me and any time I would call they responded immediately. It is now the end of February 2024, and something has troubled me that from August to December they heard from Buddy and I quite frequently. Since Buddy passed away it's been as if he was forgotten and there were no sentiments or condolences offered for a pet and his devoted owner who suddenly disappeared from receiving care. No one wonders where we've been? It has been quite sad, and as a pet dad I am lost without him. But I do appreciate everything they did, sometimes a bit more matter of factly and what seemed to be unsympathetically than I was able/willing to hear. Grief is a very tough thing to handle. He was not just a dog, he was part of the family and treated as such. I do not expect anything from this review other than the recognition that our pets are important to us and their longevity and outcomes being minimized is a very sensitive matter.”

“Took my 12 year old dog here after another office falsely diagnosed her with pancreatitis and Dr. Linkenheimer checked her and within 24 hours she was so much better. In 24 hours we went from thinking we would have to put our baby down to her being healthy as ever. The facilities were SO SUPER clean and I was very impressed. We were treated promptly and kindly. We will definitely be returning and I would recommend you do too!!! Thank you so much River Valley!!”

“I was looking for a vet that acted like a Vet and not a greedy money machine. These dog doctors think they are high classed and better than we are . So I was told about Penn Hills Veterinary, the Dr there is fantastic and he does what vets should do. Care about the patient, not about money. He didn't need X-rays and blood tests cause he is so good at his job he already knew what was wrong with my poor boy, that all the other vets in the area of Lower Burrell wouldn't even touch till I gave them 300 dollars. I hope you all start calling him because your dog is gonna be so much happier and healthier, plus my RX for my dog was right there. I was so upset from being treated like crap from the other Vets in our area that I owe him a debt of gratitude and the life of my dog, who was to old for me to get insurance on when I got him from my daughter who almost died in a car wreck. Thanks so much for being a wonderful human being and caring about ppl not money”

Talked to friends that went to their vet, they paid double, then had to return to have the stitches removed. I'll use this place for my fur babies as long as they're around.”

“I had an emergency last night at 10:30 pm with my one horse experiencing a colic episode. I called into the service and within 5 minutes Dr. Solomon had called me back. After the 2nd call i decided to have her come to my barn to be safe rather than sorry. They arrived sooner than I was advised which was amazing. This was my first time with Allegheny having transferred from my retired vet. I was very impressed with Dr. Solomon and Dr. Cassidy. Both women were very knowledgeable and efficient, and took time to address all my concerns. Dr. Solomon followed up with me this morning. I wanted to thank them both and am so pleased with this experience, even though a scary one for me, and look forward to their ongoing care. I highly recommend Allegheny Equine.”
“Today my little Douglas was neutered here, and I was very impressed with the great professionalism and care shown by the staff.
I was kept informed during the process, and given information and materials for aftercare and ways to contact the clinic with any concerns as my little boy heals.
Douglas is timid and scares easily. So I was understandably nervous about dropping him off. When I came to pick him up, it was very obvious that the staff treated him exceptionally well while he was in their care, and did their best to help him feel secure and comfortable. His incision sites are clean and well maintained. I seriously couldn't be happier that I chose to trust this clinic with my tiny family member.
I will definitely be back when the time comes for my female to be spayed.”

“Hubby and I have adopted 2 kittens over the past few years from Frankie’s affiliate Black Cat Market. Always a great experience, we love supporting our local shelters!
For the complaints regarding Adoptions:
1- Frankie’s is a veterinarian clinic, not just an adoption agency. They have 1 adoption coordinator. Imagine the amount of calls and emails she receives regarding adoptions. Please keep in mind that they do their very best to satisfy everyone’s wants while also keeping the cat’s best interest at heart (most important)
2. If you do not get the cat you requested, there are plenty more cats that need a home. Hubby and I also didn’t get our first pick for our second adoption, however, instead of coming to Google reviews and degrading the company, we adopted another kitten that needed a loving home. And we love him!
3. Frankie’s and Black Cat Market do a great job. It’s takes a lot of resources, effort, and time to do what they do. Let’s just all appreciate that we have these local non-kill shelters putting in this much effort for our animal community.
Thank you again for giving us our babies! There will be a 3rd in the future ;)”
