Had a recent overnight stay with my mother as a start to our extended weekend away in New Hope and Jim Thorpe, PA. Found Porches to be a top notch bed and breakfast. The room was very spacious and inviting. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom had a walk in size shower to shame most B&B properties, or at least the ones I've stayed in. Breakfast was amazing! Homemade pop-tarts, fruits and the sweet corn bread with sausage and egg on top was to die for. Staff were very attentive. Area location could really get no better as you are off the main street by a 2 minute walk down the alley and a 5 minute walk to the bridge that takes you over to the New Jersey side. Property very well maintained and cared for. Only suggestion is for the double room where we stayed next to the office, the curtains need to provide more privacy and cover. Currently they don't meet in the front and the ones on the door need to be replaced by something heavier. Other than that would highly recommend, and should we be in the area again, will definitely book.

A terrific find in New Hope, PA -- a historic B&B nestled between the Delaware River/Main Street and the canal; perfectly situated in the heart of town but removed enough to be quiet, private, and peaceful.
Built in the early 1800s (but renovated with perfection), the main house is so well appointed and furnished, spotless, warm and cozy. We stayed on the very private third floor; bed was superb with a ceiling fan, A/C strong and quiet, comfy sitting area with a great desk, private outdoor porch, and the bathroom was outstanding - new shower and antique bathtub. Water was hot immediately.
Breakfast was incredible, guests have 24-hour access to kitchen, fridge, coffee & tea, and baked goods sit under glass for guests throughout the day. Eating breakfast outside on the spacious porch or inside in a quaint dining room is a treat.
Cost is very fair and affordable - and you get great quality for the dollar.
The hosts - Lisa & Bob - were warm and caring, totally committed to the property. Can't wait to return...

Porches on the Towpath is one of our favorite places to stay. The B&B is so cute, in the perfect location to walk around town, and has some of the best hospitality you'll find. As much as I want to keep this hidden gem our secret, they deserve 5 stars!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Porches. Our room was nice and cool in the summer heat, with a comfortable bed and within walking distance to many local shops and restaurants. Absolutely lovely service and delicious breakfast—the icing on the cake after our overnight stay. Will absolutely be back!

Nice accommodations but not a lot of personal attention. If you like your solitude this is the place for you. They don’t make up the room daily and I did have to request fresh towels. At the end of the shops in town so it’s away from the crowds. Country breakfast available at 9AM. WiFi available but no TV. Pleasant owner(s) and staff.

I recently had a terrible experience at a chain hotel, so I decided to go back to a B&B experience again. It was an excellent decision. I like knowing that the owner is present on the site and available to answer questions and address needs. The rooms are lovely, the breakfast was amazing, and talk about an ideal location. I walked across the bridge over the Delaware River - so amazing! I walked on the towpath and there were also so many great restaurant choices. I would definitely come back.

our third stay at this lovely old place and it gets better every time... excellent central location but tucked up against the canal towpath so it's quiet and relaxing...rooms are comfortable and interesting, the garden is wonderful, the included full breakfast is excellent, and Lisa the owner is interesting and fun... we'll be back again next spring

Our first B&B experience was excellent! Our Porches main house room opened up to the second story wrap around porch equipped with outdoor seating and a view of the property. Sue's breakfast was great and left you ready to start your day. Location is ideal as everything is in walking distance including the towpath just outside. Great place to decompress for a few days. We'll definitely be back.

Great bed and breakfast between Main St and the canal path. Parking included for one car and easy walk around New Hope and across the bridge to Lambertville. Enjoyed the original fresh cooked breakfasts and very friendly owner and staff. Grounds are attractive and cozy. Would definitely come back!
Walkability: Easy back entrance on canal path to walk New Hope.
