I am so disappointed by what has happened to this practice. Dr. Marcus was (and likely still is) excellent, but he sold the practice and only works on Mondays. The other two doctors are no longer with the practice, and except for Mondays they only have per diem vets. I needed to have my dog euthanized, Dr. Marcus would not come in to do it on a Wed or Thurs. I did schedule an appointment for a Wed with one of their per diem vets, but then got a message that the Vet was not coming in on Wed. This was such a disappointing and dis-heartening result. We went to Stockton Vet., and they were amazing... kind, compassionate, eager to please even though we were not a regular patient. What a downhill slide for a practice that I used to revere.

Competent caring and knowledgeable. They carefully consider and make sure they justify further treatments if needed. My dog loves going there. No hesitancy.

Everybody can have a bad experience with anything, and I wanted to say I have been very happy with this vet hospital and with Dr Struening. I came here a few months ago after the desk person at my previous long-term vet kept telling me how much everything would cost, and that if I missed an appointment I'd be charged, yada yada. I'd taken out two cats there for years and was in a stressful time with one of them. I did not need a desk person making it all about money, and telling me I couldn't get an appointment for two weeks unless I called every morning to see if someone canceled, or paid $150 emergency fee. The vets were fine, but that was the end of that. I called New Hope Vet on a recommendation and they saw me that day, and it was no-charge as a first time visit. I could write a scathing review of the other vet, too, but I won't do that. Things happen. People have bad encounters and bad days. But my cats are my priority and the one who is terminally ill has been treated very well, with follow up calls. I'm happy here.

If everyone was so helpful and kind. My daughter was very worried about her cat. Leo is a bangle who has had a heart problem since birth. Doctor Emily and staff were extremely concerned and reassuring that everything with Leo was going to be okay. My daughter is more relaxed since our visit, and Leo is more loving.Would I recommend this veterinary hospital, absolutely!

I certainly should have listened to the poor reviews. Alas, for close proximity and being new to this side of the country I went there. So, I'd been a regular client with them for several months. My fifteen year old cat has arthritis so I took her in every four weeks for a Solensia shot as well as other veterinary needs. On one occasion she had an adverse reaction to the shot. The next morning her breathing was heavy, constricted, and her third eyelid was down.I did not know there was such a thing in cats as a third eyelid. All I knew was my cat suddenly looked like she had no eye and her breathing was alarming. I was panicked.I called the vet only to have the front desk person, Lori, tell me coldly there was nothing they could do for my cat and to take her to an emergency hospital an hour away. I was so focused on getting my cat help I didn't question this was not right. However about a month later I visited New Hope Veterinary in regards to my cat's eye care when I mentioned this in passing to the vet, Dr.Struening. She seemed perplexed that Lori had told me to go elsewhere. Yeah, I bet! This isn't the last with this person Lori at the front desk. The vet, Dr.Struening, had been trying to reach me on a call I put into her about tests being done. When I returned those calls Lori told me that I would have to set up a Zoom call. What? This is simply ridiculous.I let her know I would be speaking to the vet about her purposeful intent yet again to be maliciously unhelpful. Mind you I'd never been anything but friendly to this person up to this point.Minutes later Dr.Struening called me upset that I was mad at her for not calling me. Again, what?!! I knew she had tried at least twice. She informed me that Lori had told her I was fumed at her, Dr.Struening, and that Lori was crying because I took it out on her for the doctor not calling me back on demand. Such a huge lie! I was feeling badly I kept missing the doctor's calls. Wow. Total lie and she knows it. Not at all what the issue was. Alligator tears on Lori's part to cover her own hide and frame me as the villain. Typical narcissistic ploy.I don't understand why some people love to cause upset and instigate problems but she is certainly one of them. She even lied on my cat's records that I snap and that I was very upset with the vet. I did snap, at her and rightfully so. Still, nothing truthfully written about what the real issue was which is her stonewalling clients.I think Dr, Struening is fine but she wrongly defended this person. That's her bad and poor assessment of the what took place.Be aware vet owners, if there is a problem starting with the person who handles the calls forget it. You don't want to be turned away from your regular vet on the whim of a nasty desk person and left in dire circumstances when your pet's life is on the line.Go to another vet center where the staff are helpful.By the way, she isn't the only one there that is rude and counter helpful. There are some friendly people there but the bad apples make it a terrible choice for your veterinary needs. Don't find out the hard way that you will not be able to help your pet through this center when the chips are down. Truly unconscionable that the operators of the clinic allow this to go on and worse still, defend it.

New Hope Veterinary Hospital goes above and beyond for their patients. They've taken excellent care of my dog and cat, and saw us immediately when we had an emergency with our new puppy. Even with a major health scare, our new puppy has loved his time so much here that this is the first time we've had a dog wag his tail nonstop as soon as we get out of the car to go inside. They truly care about your pets and are always available to answer questions and see your animal. Would highly recommend!

Outstanding. Dog loved it, even though she was ailing at the time. Brought her back for some spa services. We are both happy with it!!!

Dr. Gerhard is the best! My dog hates the vet’s office & she makes appointment's so much easier! We drive 30 minutes to get there & even though we have vet’s closer to us, we won’t go to another place. The staff is always so nice! Highly recommend!
