Steam into History is a delightful destination in York County, PA, offering visitors a chance to enjoy train rides, scenic walking trails, and picnic areas. The atmosphere is lively with numerous events, making it an ideal place to eat and socialize. Although the York 17 engine is no longer in operation, guests can still experience rides on a GP7. The train rides, such as those on the replica steam engine, provide a pleasant experience with beautiful scenery and informative staff who share the history of the railroad. Visitors have praised the friendly and welcoming nature of the staff, who strive to create a comfortable environment, making guests feel like part of a family rather than just customers. The experience can include box lunches and entertainment, such as historical reenactments at the station. Families can also take advantage of educational programs like the S.T.E.A.M. camp, where children engage in hands-on activities related to trains and history. With a charming gift shop and opportunities to explore the rolling stock, Steam into History is a fun and educational outing for all ages, perfect for those looking to learn about rail history while enjoying a unique experience.
Great train ride for your family, especially with the fall foliage.
