Took a 77 lincoln starter to get rebuilt. He charged $90. It started the car 3 times. Called him and he said we have to change more parts and he will have to charge me. I went to napa and paid $47. for one and it is working great. Stay away from this place.

I recently bought a 1963 Pontiac Bonneville knowing that the starter needed attention. I called Rubino's and the communication was great. The day we pulled it, I called and found out I could bring it to be serviced. I dropped it off, was told to get coffee and it'd be done,so we hit Eat n' Park for lunch and came back. It was almost done and I got to see just how terribly worn the brushes were. Drive gear was also gone. I walked out happily, only being charged a paltry $48. It was amazing how much a stronger start tangibly felt. I know where I'll go from now on.

I've been here a few times and owe this man a good review. Always reasonable and he knows these starters and alternators like no one else. Don't throw out an old core or your factory starter but have it rebuilt or fixed here.

The owner replaced the bearings in my Hitachi alternator while I waited (and watched). Inspected and cleaned the inside, and reassembled with an attention to detail. Appeared to be highly competent and experienced. Price was less than half the cost of a remanufactured alternator. Also appeared to have an ample inventory of new and/or remanufactured alternators and starters.
