The woman who runs the rescue with her husband, she is an animal lover down to her core. My husband and I just adopted to 1 year old cat siblings and we are so happy! This woman has shared with us what she has seen and dealt with during her years of doing this, she's been doing this since 1983, that's a lot of animals she's seen neglected, abused and dropped of by idiotic people for idiotic reasons. She's seen a lot. People saying she was "rude to them" honestly, in my opinion, just expected her to act like a petsmart employee ? which is ridiculous. This woman has negative reviews by people who ONLY leave other negative reviews for other businesses. They just seem like Karen's who expect people to be exactly how they want them to be. Not every place, is the costumer right and that's what the people leaving negative reviews about her attitude EXPECT. And that's just wrong. If anything, my husband and I are THE biggest animal lovers and we love her and understand she only wants what's best for the animals. She isn't there to suck up to you so you take animals off her hands. That's not how she runs it, and we appreciate that bc that's how it should be. We love the cats we got from her and we appreciate what she's done for 1000s and 1000s of animals she's taken care of for these past 40+ years. She deserves way better reviews than she's gotten. It's important to have reviews that are honest, 100%. But please remember, those people leaving the reviews are often the hardest people to please and particularly miserable. If your looking for a place that cares more about the animals health and happiness over giving you the "costumer service" treatment. Please try this place out.

Small, caring shelter whose owner is a nice lady who simply cares for all these animals.

As you can read from reviews this shelter is awful or wonderful. Online research it reveals that if you are friends with the owner or Facebook friends with the owners family, then this is a great place to adopt. Otherwise it is a challenging experience with abusive service. I went here after losing a cat I paid thousands of dollars trying to save. As I was fighting to save my cats life the shelter owner was cold and sometimes outright cruel. She often suggested it was my fault my male cat had a urinary blockage stating I must be feeding bad food since she "never heard of that". I explained I have records of buying prescription urinary health cat food but she insisted Purina Essentials from Walmart was better and she knew best. She outright told me she usually doesn't like to talk to people with tattoos or with "holes in their face" (meaning a small nose piercing). So unless you personally are friends with this shelter I suggest you go to Center for Animal Welfare or FURR. Responsibly adopt in about 1 week from these without judgment or emotional abuse! Note these shelters also are going to make sure you have a safe and appropriate home . Just in a respectful manner. I'm so glad that a very specific, seemingly conservative person, or person friends with her grandkids can adopt at Pets in Need. So many more animals could find loving homes too with kinder service / management. Shame

My granddaughter collected donations for her birthday and we donated this place. Both the volunteer and owner were very nice and informative. Pleasant experience and will donate again.

I know first hand how hard it is to run a shelter, which is why I am giving this 5 stars. However, if the first line of contact is rude ( which seems to be the receptionist), then it HURTS the animals because people will go some place else. It seems this a good place, but needs to change out the Grandmother, if she is being rude to people calling.

My boyfriend and I adopted a pair of sisters from this shelter a little over a month ago, and we could not be happier with our decision. From the first phone call, Nancy and the volunteers were eager to answer our questions and quick to set up an appointment with us to visit the cats. Pets in Need truly cares about the animals that come into their care and sending them home with responsible pet parent. Our sweet girls are happy and healthy as can be, and my boyfriend and I are so grateful to Pets in Need for helping grow our family.

Adoption through this shelter was easy as long as the referred home is valid and in a satisfactory condition.. they do check, so please don't waste your time if you're not going to be a responsible and loving caregiver for these beautiful animals. We are so happy with our kitty.. we love her so much.Thank you, Pets In Need?

After reading all these reviews I’m completely convinced that this place is hell so ya not gonna look there shame if ur trying to rehome lil fur babies to forever homes and u are acting like trash u have to assume any animal coming out of there or going in there is going to be abused by this women who everyone seems to say it rude and is verbally abusing ppl on phone it’s disgusting and sad and I wouldn’t bother at this point eventually they will get shut down oh well after that I feel bad for poor animals in there it’s very sickening to think someone could be so evil to so many ppl makes u think what she’s doing to the animals if she can’t even treat people with common courtesy

We adopted Rico (formally Reese) from PIN last May. He was given up by his family and was a work in progress! We had a great experience with the adoption process; the women we met were very nice and professional. The paperwork was reasonable, as were the requirements for adoption. Rico found his furever home and I adopted a wonderful addition to my family!

Wouldn’t go here for nothing I called and just asked if they had any free kittens, the lady gave me a attitude and told me to go pick one up on the side of the road. Terrible customer service very disrespectful

incredibly rude woman at the phone, i am trying to rehome a cat and i was talked down to and belittled as if i were a child. would not listen to any reasoning i had for being unable to keep the cat and shamed me for it. told me i should give up on rehoming him. absolutely ridiculous

Extremely rude. Called to ask about a sick cat and wanted to find out options just to be told i shouldn't get more cats when im asking for help. Cant run a business if youre just going to make the owner feel awful about the situation and hang-up without even hearing the extent of the problem.
