I love the Burtner House! It's one of my favorite places. I hope the house can remain open for years to come & future generations can experience what it was like to live in a time of the past without modern amenities. If you haven't been there you should strongly consider attending the Strawberry Festival in June & the Fall Harvest Festival. If you join the "Burtner House Restoration Society" Facebook page, you can see all of the happenings & meetings that are open to the public. I'm so glad the house is still standing today & so many have the opportunity to enjoy this National Historic Landmark!

It is always nice to visit Burtner House and experience a bit of the heritage/history of this region. It reminded me of those who have gone before us working hard and fighting for the freedom we are blessed to have here in the United States. May God bless this Nation and help us to retain that freedom that was obtain by the blood,sweat, and tears of many.

The site site it’s closed, you must call in advance to schedule a tour, unfortunately, we came here from Indiana without any way of contacting anyone to find out what the protocol is. There is no listing of prices or anything that is useful for guest looking to visit the site

So hot in room. Either too cold because have to have window open. When you need help have waited for over 20 minutes. Best hope that it is not a life or death situation

Nothing I can say will give this place justice..you have to see it. The work that Jeff Jones, and his helpers did makes it even that much better.... you'll have to go in October. I believe the 12th is the burtner house fall harvest...

Went thru it with my Mother ( Grace Burtner McClurg ) several years ago. It was great, I remember my grandfather's recollections of it as I grew up. His name was Loyal Holmes Burtner.
