My sister, Melissa Wood, my wife, Lisa Drumheiser and myself, Gary Drumheiser, were extremely grateful and impressed with Lucas’ FH. As we were on our way from our home in Bucks County, PA up to see my mother, Margaret Purcell when we received the news that she had passed. As we would not make it there before she was taken to Lucas’ FH I thought we would not get to say our goodbyes to my mother, Margaret Purcell, 8/7/48 - 5/15/20. My wife called Lucas’ to ask if it would be possible since we were still two and a half hours away to see my mother and say our goodbyes. A woman named Ashley answered the phone and of course gave her condolences. My wife Lisa had asked about the request to see her and say goodbye. She informed us that she would have to get back to us once she had spoken with the Funeral Director to see if it could be possible for my mom to be prepared for a viewing. She then called back within 20 minutes and said absolutely, just to call when we were an hour away and the FD would have her ready. When we finally did get there unsure what to expect, walking in we were greeted by Ashley and she told us that there was a private room set up for us with my mother and we could stay as long as we wanted. They extremely went out of their way to accommodate us while putting a prayer alter in front of her so we could go up to see her and say our goodbyes, as my mother looked as though she was just sleeping in her pink PJ’s!!! She looked so much at peace that it was like a thousand pounds had been lifted off me. Seeing her the past few years in the hospital and at her house was horrible with all the tubes and things in her. When we walked in she looked like my mom 20 years ago, just sleeping there. I had to write this as during all my grief yesterday I wanted to acknowledge Lucas’ FH for going out of their way for the three of us to see her and also let them know that it really was done with such thoughtfulness and care. I would recommend Lucas’ FH to anyone and would also be a reference to the kindness and respect they took with my mother and in helping us get through this awlful day. Since we live in Bucks County, PA, we wanted to make sure that we gave them a glowing recommendation since we live so far away. Thank you once again, Ashley and everybody at Lucas’ FH for your compassion and helping me get through one of the most awful days of my life. It was greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gary & Lisa Drumheiser & Melissa Wood1
