The summer is over and none of the issues we have repeatedly reported were addressed. Neil Coyne did stop out to our house, but did not look at the pool as the cover was on.
Our issues are:
- 3 coping tiles that are the wrong color were installed when damaged coping tiles were replaced.
- We have cracking all over the surface and discoloration in locations were weepers were present before the surface was applied and never repaired. We were told someone would come and "dive" our pool to inspect it, that never happened.
They did send the rep from the surface manufacturer out to take a look. His sole purpose was to clear his product as the issue. I have since followed up with Neil Coyne 3 times on 6/19, 7/5, 7/13 and never heard back. The discoloration issues have been present since they installed the surface. We have the site reports from their Project Manager, Harald, that detail these issues repeatedly.
I would not recommend anyone work with this company. They do not stand by their product or their customers. Once they received our last payment, the communication stopped. It took our first 1 star review 7 months ago to get someone to call us back. It feels like they are more interested in getting us to change our review than addressing our issues.
UPDATE:
3 years into buying this pool, they finally resolved the discoloration issue by draining my pool and doing an acid wash on the surface. The pool finally looks like what we expected it to when we first purchased it. We opened the pool early in April to try and get this service done as early into the swimming season as possible. They wanted to give the acid bath another try and perform it as recommended by the surface manufacturer. This would require dumping in a ton of acid and letting it sit for a week to try and remove the discoloration. As a last smack in the face, their warranty department scheduled us to have it done memorial day weekend which is also the same week as both of our boys birthdays, which they knew. We opened earlier than normal to avoid this. This didn't work, and they had to drain the pool, and do an acid wash by pouring acid directly on the surface and brushing it. Then, I had to refill the pool and balance the chemistry on my dime. I feel this should have been covered by A&S because they are correcting their error. They finished almost 2 months ago and NO ONE from their end has reached out to see how the acid wash went.
As a review on their quartz surface material, its rough like sandpaper and your feet get torn up if your playing in the pool. The children constantly come out of the pool with their feet bleeding. I was hoping this would wear down a bit, but it is horrible. Had the rep told me it would be this rough, we never would have gone with it.
I will never do business with this company again and would highly recommend no one else to either. There are a bunch of other options out there and I hope we can save people the pain that this company has put our family though.

Today is June 21 and no has come out to inspect the spa that feels like sand paper. We are well into the season and cannot use it. I have pictures of bloody feet because I tried to walk on it. What will it take to get Tyler our project manager out here? I've seen so many poor reviews due to no follow up service after the bill is paid. A class action suit is in order here. Let's get together to require Anthony Pools to take care of our warrantied products. Review remains at -1 star.

Do you stand behind your product? I have made multiple attempts to have a pool surface issue resolved, and your team in Warminster, PA, is MIA. This is a new surface as of June, 2023, that feels like sandpaper since we opened on May 22, 2024. I am planning to put your insurance company on notice if I don't hear from your company by tomorrow afternoon. Read the reviews from unsatisfied customers who paid for and expected the best from Anthony Pools. I wasn't surprised when I read identical complaints about the lack of response to legitimate claims.Your reputation is at risk. I owned an Anthony pool for over 40 years, so when it needed a new plaster surface, I trusted Anthony pools again over the competition. I now need to have it repaired, and I have never experienced negligence like this. Read the reviews from unsatisfied customers who paid for and expected the best from Anthony Pools. Your reputation is at risk.
I interviewed several companies before I made the decision to go with Anthony Pools. The trust I had in you was the reason for that decision, which would now be different. You were not the cheapest, but I thought you were the best.

We had our pool plastered in September 2022. Issues with discoloration, stains, lights not flushed with the pool wall were visible immediately, but the company never corrected the issue. We were told unless the pool has visible large cracks, we should not worry…
The site was never visited by A&S employees, only subcontractors. No customer service to try to make it right. Would never recommend this company to anybody, as one would be faced with finding another company ti fix their mistakes.
Addendum summer 2024:
Anthony sylvan never corrected what they promised they will come fix. The response online was for a show only!
The pool heater they installed never worked correctly, and now it’s out of warranty, and we need to find an actual COMPETENT, responsible and HONEST company to fix what they did wrong!
They were not cheap…. We used them since they advertise how long they have been around, thinking that would hold any value…. do yourself a favor, stay away from this company, use somebody who doesn’t subcontract, and actually provides the job you expect and pay for.

Took over a year for completion with limited communication or commitment on final completion date. Once 95% of payment was made we saw 8 hours of work a month! Couldn’t get a single person on the phone to confirm anything. Pool is finished and at the end was a quality product, however it was a challenging experience with limited communication, limited work after majority of payment and a sell in of 14-16 weeks for the job that ultimately took close to 60. Be prepared for a lengthy timeline but you will ultimately receive a quality product.

Stay away from this company at all costs. We had them perform a replaster, close our pool, then open our pool for the season, and close it once again to ensure that this expensive refinish would be done right. This was a replaster that was over $16,000 and supposed to last ten plus years.
The problems started immediately after install. All of the jets and drains were supposed to have matching covers, as well we have an in floor cleaning system that they did not reinstall properly. When I asked them to come out and fix what they did not complete inside of the contract, they told me that they would not be able to do it until the following year when we reopened the pool for the first time with the new finish because they did not have a diver. We were more than accommodating in waiting for them to correct this issue, but we’re not happy with the initial level of service. We still have them close our pool because we wanted to have no issues with the replaster.
With one full season under our belts, we expected to open up a beautiful pool and be ready to swim, to our surprise we have an enormous crack, a defect inside of the workmanship and installation of their company that they are saying isn’t covered by warranty. They did this without even coming out to look and see what the crack look like. In their response email their customer service person literally quotes the three things wrong in the install, and states that they are covered by warranty, but not in our case. Stay away from this company. They’re only looking to make money and not take care of their clients.

Anthony & Sylvan are reliable, honest, and operate with integrity.
Don (Consultant) always takes the time to answer any questions we may have, and is professional, genuine, honest, and knowledgeable. The service and communication from Megan (Scheduler) has been outstanding. It can be challenging to find pool restoration specialists you can trust with a large pool project. Thank you!

First of all, we need to share with you that this process has been more than five years in the making and my previous job was an investigative news reporter- you know the guy you call when you are getting ripped off! We called more than 20 businesses and hours worth of quotes, "deals" and conversations before choosing to contract with Anthony & Sylvan. Here's why you should too:
Trust and Honest Conversations: We just wanted someone to shoot straight and yes, other companies promised bigger pools and weren't willing to listen to what we really wanted, only what they wanted to build.
Harald Bottke and Robert McCubbin are the best of the best! They worked with us on our dream instead of telling us how and why we should dream their way!
Next, these reviews really matter and the consistency of what's written matters just as much- we studied, analyzed and critiqued dozens of them and we just kept reading consistency of shoddy construction from one company, ghosting from another after the pool is done and on and on...in the end, the design process the real plans or the nuances of our yard and working with our vision after listening to what we really wanted made us choose A&S and you should too. At the time of writing this review, we have only had the excavation stage and because of our confidence in this company as well as Harald and Robert's level of customer service, we are not only extremely confident in the remaining steps and the outcome, but also are asking them to include a spa that we had dreamed of but had to take off to make budget. We are so thrilled by just the planning and excavation that we trust them completely to make our entire dream a reality- don't waste another second or thought, call them and start swimming in your own resort!
Update: Orlando!! I almost hesitate describing how amazing this young man is because I always want him to be available for our pool service and whenever we need advice. And I'm afraid that if I celebrate him too much that everyone else will request him as well. Lol. Seriously. This guy is aces. Absolute top-notch and incredibly knowledgeable with everything that you always forget to ask, but he's always there with patience and understanding to provide answers.

Unfortunately, we need to leave a negative review. This is not usual, this is the first 1-star review I have ever written. A&S constructed our pool from Fall 2018 to Spring 2019. There were a number of issues with construction, including workers deficating in our back yard and us having to clean up, equipment being put on a pile of stone that was eroding, our lawn being so torn up that A&S trucks continually got stuck, and our pool being plastered during a tornado warning. The plaster issue caused debris in our pool finish which was finally remediated in Spring 2020. Between 2019 and now we have also had several equipment failures (lights, heater display, etc). These equipment issues were repaired, but some of the fixes were lengthy due to A&S technician availability.
During the 2022 season we started noticing the coping was coming loose and tiles started falling off. We filed a warranty claim in Spring 2023 when we opened the pool. A&S has refused any warranty repairs due to the claim being after the 3 year warranty window and they formally admit no culpability. This is after we shared with them our home security cameras which picked up 2 of their technicians discussing how it is “messed up”, “a construction” issue due to “not putting in enough concrete behind the coping”, and “probably uglier than we think”. It is frustrating that A&S employees freely discuss how our pool has construction defects but we cannot get the A&S warranty department to take any corrective action.
Below are 2 videos, the first being the storm in which A&S thought it was appropriate to plaster our pool in and the second being their employees discussing the construction issues of our pool. Also attached are several pictures of me having to use my personal vehicle to pull A&S subcontractor trucks out of our yard, a picture of some of our lawn damage, and a picture of the mound of eroding dirt they decided to put our equipment on (we had to pay for a retaining wall to stop the erosion).
This is not the customer experience we were expecting when we contracted with A&S, it has been a constant stream of issues. In the end we just want the tile/coping repaired so finally we can enjoy this pool without some open repair item required.

I will give them a 0. I've written a review before and have gotten nothing accomplished. Before my warranty expired, my pool had a plaster problem, i reported it and then we had Covid that slowed up progress. Today we still have not rectified the problem. It took forever to get the work done then when it was done it was poor work and incorrect. We have reach out to so many people at Anthony sylvan. In the beginning so helpful but one they get your money slow progress no return calls. The are all over the place and they go through worker because they keep changing the companys that work for them. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Seven months ago, I posted a review at the conclusion of my pool experience with Anthony & Sylvan Pools. One thing that remained to be completed was a warranty issue regarding improper/incomplete installation of water flow covers in my spa floor. When the plaster contractor completed my pool, they did not install the covers which were supposed to be set in the plaster during the application phase. Anthony & Sylvan said they could remedy the issue by cutting out the original floor around the pipes and installing the covers in new plaster. I will let the readers judge whether or not the pictures I am posting are an adequate resolution to this problem. I will note that when the repair was completed this week, the plaster patches applied are raised/elevated above the original floor and will likely remain that way indefinitely. I would not call this an adequate resolution to the issue!

Steve came out to give us a quote on a salt water conversion and renovating the pool plaster. He is a wealth of information and his knowledge and guidance are certainly refreshing in this industry. Highly recommend you give these guys an opportunity. And ask for Steve Sharpless!

My first review of my 30 year old pool renovation was for renovation phase , which was great ! I dealt with Sheryl k. And all went well so my review was “job well done “ ,,,,,this is part 2 , problems arose with the plaster , 6 weeks after renovation I brought up issues with project manager Carl neff , he advised me to keep brushing pool , would reevaluate in September before closing for season , I reached out to Anthony sylvan in September, was informed that Carl had passed away , and he recommended an acid wash of pool , at this time I started dealing with the warranty department, I’m a 66 year old retired mechanic, and I can tell you that I have never. Experienced anything like the experience of dealing with this company! I had pool built 30 years ago, decided to do a renovation last march to the tune of $35,000 , everyone that worked on my pool were professional and did nice work , dealing with Anthony sylvan has been a lesson in incompetence since . You can not call and have anyone answer a phone , leave message you may or may not get a reply. I have had 4 different people come out and acknowledge my concerns to no avail, warranty claim was submitted last September with pics .still playing games with the warranty department. Was informed that plaster foreman would be here last Thursday at 9 am ,,,,, no show , reached out to warranty department and received a voicemail that he would be out in afternoon, two young guys showed up and had no clue what they were there for and didn’t speak any English at all so you know how that went , still waiting on a response from Anthony sylvan pools !!!! Stay away from Anthony sylvan pools at all costs !!!! Should be able to give -5 stars , I have bought trucks , cars boats motorcycles and homes businesses own a farm upstate Pennsylvania and have bought tractors and farm equipment and I have never dealt with anything close to the disrespect from Anthony sylvan pools !!! Stay tuned for part 3 ,,,,
