"CVS Caremark Specialty Pharmacy" DOES NOT CARE AT ALL about one's health. At least three times now I could have DIED FROM CVS. They run out of my life-or-death epilepsy medications and liver transplant immunosuppressant medications. They don't even tell me that they've run out or are running low! CVS sends medications up to 3 days late. CVS sends me somebody else's medication, making me out of my drug for days (and whoever wanted their meds were out of them). They tell me that they want a new prescription when my doctor already sent one twice the previous week. And much more. CVS is NOT TRUSTWORTHY.
What's worse is that I am stuck with CVS for my liver transplant "specialty medication." My insurance denies covering me under any other pharmacy for my "specialty medication," the meds that prevent me from getting liver transplant rejection. I COULD HAVE DIED FROM CVS running late many times.
I have had at least 5 pharmacies ever since 1995. None ever were a problem except CVS. I don't trust CVS Specialty Caremark Pharmacy. CVS may cause me to die from not sending my medications on time, and/or from the many other issues this company has had. I may die from many bad grand mal seizures and/or liver rejection without my medications.
I recommend one not relying on CVS, especially for life or death medications...unless you have no choice, regarding insurance coverage. Good luck.

If you are undergoing IVF, do not use CVS specialty. If your insurance requires you to use CVS specialty, get different insurance. This pharmacy will make your IVF "journey" a nightmare. I am changing health insurance next open enrollment season solely because of the hell this pharmacy has put me through.

Not a CVS Health or CVS Pharmacy, by appointment only. Not a store

CVS Specialty Pharmacy: Please take note of this review and the over one hundred reviews about the poor communication at your company. If you read through the reviews, people depend on your pharmacy for life-sustaining medications, and your business practices as a healthcare company are unacceptable.
I have dealt with many specialty pharmacies over the past 5+ years and have never had such a poor experience as I've had with CVS Specialty Pharmacy. Unfortunately my insurance requires me to fill with you and therefore I am subject to the horrible system at CVS.
I was recently contacted by the automated system that my medication was due for delivery. I filled the prescription, picked a delivery date, and a week later was contacted that my order would be cancelled because I needed refills. I should have been alerted to that well before my refills were up. Now I am behind on my medication schedule and must make an appointment to see my doctor and get my prescription filled, which could take up to a month.
When I called, I was told CVS had reached out multiple times to my doctor via fax - VIA FAX? First of all, while I appreciate the efforts to contact my doctor, you should also be contacting THE PATIENT about a refill so that we can then make an appointment to see the doctor who likely needs to see their patient in order to re-up a prescription.
I have worked with many other lovely non-corporate specialty pharmacies. When my prescription is almost out of refills, they will call me to tell me that.
You need have a system in place that alerts patients to when their medication needs refills. That is your job as a pharmacy. If you have enough bandwidth to contact the doctors (supposedly months in advance), there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be able to do the same with patients. In fact, patients should be actively notified each time they refill of how many refills they have left in order to prepare. The fact that I was able to full on place an entire order, schedule a delivery date, and didn't find out until a week later that you actually couldn't fill my prescription is absolutely ridiculous. If smaller pharmacies with less resources can figure it out, then so can you.
Do better, CVS. Please operate your company with integrity and actually listen to the hundreds of people telling you that the system is broken. People have to fill at a specialty pharmacy because they need a special medication that often is can be a life/death situation. In my case, while I won't die without my medication, I'm in need of it in order to function on a daily basis. Not having it for over a month will have impacts on my wellbeing. There are no words to express how frustrating it is to deal with a company that has zero regard for the people on the receiving end of their horrible business practices.

They supply a specialty prescription that I can't get at local pharmacies. They track my prescription and notify me when refill date is near. They ship it to arrive in good time.

If I could give these people 0 stars I would. They treated me like I was a second class citizen, most likely in part due to the stigma with the medication I was being treated with. It took TWELVE PHONE CALLS TO GET IT RIGHT, of having to literally tell them what needed to be done in order to accomplish the task. My medication was kicked out and cancelled twice due to " system issues" or them supposedly not getting an answer at my Dr. Office which they used the wrong prompt to get a confirmation and it took me again directing them to actually take control of the situation and think to themselves maybe I could be a decent person and try again. Nope just treat them like a number and next!

Most incompetent, unreliable cluster Eff of a pharmacy! They will let you die! The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. They set up deliveries for your medication that never get delivered! They make mistakes with quantity and bill your insurance for more than they give you! What a mess! Life ruining pharmacy! Class action lawsuit!

Clueless, called me and said waiting on prescription from local cvs, when I followed up, they left in limbo, said I needed to call to have it filled, then it would ship eventually. I informed them the doctor already called it in to get filled, why are they waiting on me to tell them what to do?

This place is a joke! Hung up on 3 different times and 2 days waisted! Nothing was answered at all. "Supervisors will hang up on you!" This company is the reason so many sick people would rather just die!!

I just switched to using the home delivery from this pharmacy due to insurance change. I wish I could go back to using my local specialty pharmacy, because this place is already awful. My first interaction, they gave me a phone number to call and get a new co-pay card which my other pharmacy never asked me to do. I verified the number twice with them before calling, but when I called, it was a scammer posing as the copay company and asked for a credit card. Thankfully I knew better and hung up on them, then I Googled and got the correct number. Since then, I've only had 2 deliveries and they've been late both times, putting me off schedule for my injections. They're absolutely terrible, avoid at all costs.

Worst Pharmacy to deal with, no training of employees, no customer service, told a different story every time from every level of customer service, don’t read notes in the system that tells them what they need to do there job, in 3 years of having to use them i can think of maybe one time i didn’t have a issue with my prescription, promised returned phone calls back from supervisor 3 times to no returns calls this week alone, some how deleted my insurance information after my order was placed. Guess if you line insurance companies pockets you can keep their business other wise i have NO idea how they are still in business when you are forced to have to use them!!!!!
