A Vets is the best emergency vet in the Pittsburgh area. The service, staff and doctors are amazing and kind. I live 5 minutes from blue pearl emergency and will never go there again. A Vets actually cares about pets, not money. The doctor that cared from my puppy was so thorough and discussed medical treatment.Hands down if you in need of an emergency vet, go to A Vets in Monroeville.

If you love your pets – TRUST THE 1 STAR REVIEWS and DO NOT EVER take your pet to this facility. They do not care about your pets and will milk you dry. They were completely negligent with my sisters cat. Her cat was anemic with blood in his stool. They somehow completely missed his GI bleed and treated him for an autoimmune disorder that he did not have, giving him repeated unsuccessful transfusions and medicines that made his bleeding and his condition worse. Once he was transferred, it took Avets 3 days to provide his medical records to the new facility, who easily able to CORRECTLY diagnose him. Her cat has since passed away because her only option after a week of this suffering and continued internal bleeding was surgery, which she could no longer afford because Avets charged her an obscene amount of money for a misdiagnosis. And of course, they will take NO responsibility for any of it. Unwilling to provide any money back for their own mistake, even though it was the only way to save this cats life. Unethical, predatory, a complete abomination. I cant imagine how many animals have lost their lives in your pursuit to make a buck. I don’t know how you sleep at night.

We met with the neurologist recently because our Frenchie had severe pain and neck problems. The doctor spent a lot of time with him assessing his condition and with us to discuss treatments. There was never a feeling during that time that we couldn't ask questions or expect thoughtful answers. So far, her treatment regimen has alleviated nearly all of his pain and we're hopeful for a full recovery. It's never convenient to take a pet to the emergency room, but we're always very thankful to Avets for the excellent care we receive from them.

The entire staff at Avets especially Dr. Ball were so wonderful with us. We were facing a very difficult decision to end the suffering of our 5 year old corgi mix (Ozzie) who suddenly developed paralysis of his hind end which unfortunately is common with his breed and the fact that he was born with deformities of his spine and limbs. The doctor explained everything in great detail with heartfelt compassion and we are very grateful for that. I’d also like to recognize two staff members who attended to us, Cheyenne and Elise for being so comforting to both our dog and us. Our fur babies are dearest family members and losing them is always heartbreaking. Thank you all so much for your kindness and sincere compassion through this whole experience. Our baby is no longer suffering and will never be forgotten but will be forever missed dearly by all who loved him. He’s safe in the arms of Jesus.

I was met with the most lovely, helpful, honest and caring staff. I always have a great experience. They saved my cats life last summer, and this winter I had taken my dog here. They took every length to make sure my dog was comfortable, and not under stress. They went as far as to give us some blankets to be comfortable on the floor while my dogs sedation kicked in. My only thing: I highly recommend having pet insurance for emergencies.

I took my shih tzu for care on Feb 5 because our regular vet is out of town. The registration process on line was easy and efficient. I was concerned about getting a response, but I got a very quick turnaround.Staff was wonderful, friendly and caring. We were told to expect a long wait as my dog was stable, but it was much quicker than expected.Everything was clearly explained from the exam where I was present to treatment. Discharge papers also clearly reflected our concerns, test results, and the treatment plan. Medication was provided, so I didn’t need to make a separate stop. The doctor was very knowledgeable and considerate. Now, we hope that treatment will resolve the issues; but if not, I am comfortable checking back as they encouraged.

Had to have our 17 year old cat put to sleep. The staff and Veterinarian were so sweet, compassionate and comforting. Made saying good bye to our 4 legged baby a smooth transition. Would definitely reccomend them! ❤

Staff is very friendly! Took my dog there today on his death bed. Not really having the money for surgery they still pushed for getting blood work and X-rays done which I am very thankful for! I went there thinking there was no way he was coming home with me but they got him way better than when I took him down. Just be patient with them. It’s very hard trust me I sat down there for almost 8hrs waiting but I wouldn’t change it cause I got to bring my baby home. Now we not out of the woods yet but boy he came out looking like he just hasn’t had two of the hardest days of his life. Pricing is a little expensive but to still have my boy it was worth every penny

Had a terrible experience here just last week my animal ate a very long piece of sewing thread and read online that a vet should take care of my animal and see it for its safety. Since no vet takes an animal without appointment closest place was here I go in and I was ok with it being 200 just to see the animal cause I cared. The issue I had was that they said that they needed an X-ray of my pet to help which was 500 dollars I asked if there was a cheaper option they said an ultrasound which would of been 900. I said fine to the X-ray if it would help and stated that there was no way the animal ate a metal needle. 3 hours later they bring me back said good news no metal needle had been ingested and that they couldn’t do anything for my animal. So this made me very upset that they nothing for my 2 year old cat and charged me a ridiculous amount my advice go somewhere else
