I would highly recommend north performance auto. Just got done taking my wife’s car there. She was really worried it was going to be expensive considering the garage. She took it to last year told her she would need a bunch of things this year. That simply was not the case. So you’re looking for an honest garage I would go here.

Great team at North Performance. All of my vehicles will only ever go to these guys. My transmission on my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan decided to give out after 139K miles. No worries as the dealer who sold it also sold me a warranty. All I had to do was call the team over at North Performance and they went above and beyond throughout the whole process. They were extremely helpful as well as trustworthy throughout the process. The team over there had my Van back to me in only a week and 1/2! Definitely best automotive shop in Pennsylvania. Won’t look anywhere else ever again. Thank you guys!

Referred Nik for a LS swap on a older blazer and well let's just say I wouldn't recommend them for a oil change. Took the man's money and ran. Sneek thievery and no regard for the old word of mouth concept.

Had my 98 Cobra go in for an inspection & a/c repair. They replaced my a/c condenser and got my car back on the road. I left there feeling like a million bucks, cruising the summer heat in my car. I was BLASTING cold 40°F-tested a/c. Amazing customer service and excellent attention to detail!

STAY AWAY from Rick Hoffman’s Garage as long as Nick Orth owns it. Your car and belongings might be at risk, and his business practices are suspect, at best.
Last year I took my car to this garage because a gauge was lit and my thermostat was acting funny. I had heard good things, but they tended to be more about the previous owner. Nick, the owner, tried three different things, each at higher cost, then charged me nearly $2,000 for a new head gasket. That did not fix the problem, leaving me livid but desperate to get my car running. The solution was a whole new engine, and though I wasn’t happy I agreed to move forward with a used one and a “lifetime warranty.” At that point I was in for at least $5,500 for a car that was barely valued at that. Again...the situation had me desperate.
So because the “warranty” was through Nick’s garage, I took my car back for inspection in March. Somehow, after all that expense, there was over $400 in costs, and since the car was done the day of the Covid shutdown (and I’d since leased another vehicle), I asked to make payments and leave it until I paid in full. He agreed.
Fast forward a few weeks, when I called to pay the costs. After accidentally calling the owner’s cell, I received a message asking if I’d already picked up the car “at (his) house.” Huh? I didn’t know where he lived. And I wondered why my car would be anywhere but on his lot, where it belonged. I called and he said that it had been stolen...from his house. WHAT?!
The owner’s excuse was that he’d driven the car to wipe out a light that was on...but the car was supposedly done weeks before. Then, later, his excuse was that he’d been dropping off other cars and realized he had no way home from his garage...so he chose to drive mine...without my permission?!! The most mind-blowing part was that he’d left my keys in the ignition and essentially gift-wrapped it for someone to take. Finally, as he did many times throughout this nightmare, he took no responsibility for his inept, irresponsible behavior.
Whatever you do, do not take your car here. Others tell me they do, but worry about things being stolen. They clear their valuables and their garage door openers before dropping off. Another vehicle was stolen right before mine. This doesn’t feel like coincidence. The owner doesn’t seem to car or feel responsible, and he doesn’t stand by his work. In both the first, work-related problems, and regarding the theft, he acted and stated that nothing was his fault...he didn’t understand why I was angry with him. It certainly was his fault, and of course I was angry! The turmoil of having my car fixed was bad enough….more than enough to tell people not to go. Were it not for the “warranty,” I wouldn’t have.
Oh, and about that warranty and my quotation marks. I called for the paperwork on it, wondering if maybe it included insurance. My insurance agent and attorney both advised it. Yes, I had to involve an attorney. Turns out there is no paperwork. Essentially there is no warranty (and I paid extra for it). It seems to be a scam to take more money and keep you coming, and paying, and paying, and paying for shoddy work.
I don’t know how he stays in business or why anyone would take their vehicle there. My story, if you look at other reviews, is not unique. Stay away.
