“I live 1/2 mile from a big box hardware store. You know, the kind of place where you better already know what you want and where it's located because you'll be hard pressed to find someone who actually knows what you want.Sometimes I'm just looking for a roll of tape or a nut and bolt and I really don't want to go on a hike to get it.9 times out of 10 I will drive the extra few miles to come to this place. Every time I walk in I'm greeted by someone who actually knows where the part is that I'm looking for! They even call another associate to meet me in the aisle! Now, I realize this is the optimal situation and it doesn't always go down that way, especially on a busy spring weekend. But with a little patience, someone will eventually provide assistance.Usually I can drive over there, get what I want, and get back home in roughly the same amount of time it takes me at the big box store.”
“Love Nissley's! They are my go to for all of our pet, hardware, and gardening needs. Their prices are competitive and they are so helpful and friendly there.”
“I’m sad I didn’t get his name but the young man that works the later shift in rentals was amazing and very kind I was sick and he got me chair to set made sure I was okay while I waited for my husband to come back and absolute angel”
“This is one of the most excellent places to shop for hardware and farming supplies in the area. The store is set up in an old fashioned manner. Bins and shelves are neatly and fully stocked. This store has just about everything a farmer or homesteader might need. They have an extensive inventory of Milwaukee power tools. They also have the largest inventory of cogs and gears in the county, maybe in the state. What they do not have in stock, they can usually order. If they cannot order it, they can usually fabricate it in their machine shop. This business is not just a hardware store. It is a problem solving store. This is the kind of place you can bring and issue and someone can usually figure out a way to fix it, replace it, amend it or perfect it. This is a family owned business. It is run the old fashioned way, where people still know the proprietor and might sit and talk at the counter for a minute before ringing out their products. The employees are helpful and knowledgable. Be prepared to meet the family dog and feel free to throw her ball down one of the aisles. She will gladly fetch it for you and pester you for another toss til you walk out the door. Watch for the owner's little girls riding tricycle through daddy's store. If you want a real, bonafide country hardware store, where real people, living real lives still treat you like a name and not a number, this is the place. This isn't a Tractor Supply or an Ace Hardware. This is the real deal and a little piece of old fashioned Americana at its best, nestled right in the heart of Pennslvania's Amish country.”
“I’d much rather go here than Lowe’s or Home Depot. They don’t have near as much as either of those, but sometimes less is more when you don’t feel like walking around for 30 minutes looking for something. Their coupons that they email you weekly are always worth checking out as well.”
“Harbor Freight is a staple as far as hardware tools and supplies go. The target market is usually on the lower end of things - often people that won't give the tools tons of non-stop daily abuse. Generally speaking, you get what you pay for but if you only need to use a tool a few times - it doesn't always make sense to pay top dollar. They have a discount club with yearly memberships available that have occasional discounts and benefits. Their app has some good info but the in-store inventory data seems to be often out of sync with the actual inventory. If you need something specific, it might be smart to call and check to see if it's actually in stock”

2941 W Main St, Morgantown“Very friendly and professional. I purchased three propane tanks at lowes and went to gideon king to refill. Price to refill was great, but one of tank valves did not work, so the associate said to get it exchanged and he would refill it another day. I said sounds great, should i get my receipt marked for when i return? He said dont worry about it, he will remember my face... and he did! I am shifting all of hardware store needs here from now on! Really nice people!”
“They have a great selection of farm supplies! They also have a decent but not comprehensive selection of hardware. They have a large selection of power tools! Prices are very reasonable and most are better than your chain store prices!”
“By far the best Lowe's I have ever visited in my life. Forget about home Depot!!! Come to this store you'll never go to Home Depot again. I even go out of my way to shop at this Lowe's specifically. Kevin in tools really knows his stuff he's Aces, I can't thank him more for his help he has given me. George in plumbing, nothing but awesome tips from him as well. John in flooring, he hooked me up with my whole house getting fresh carpet. I think I spent 12 grand but he took really took care of me, and help me select the best padding and bulk carpet for the best price. Everybody that walks in my house loves the carpet.
Thanks again Kevin, John , and George you're all doing amazing jobs.
Jess and Dawn definitely need to hook you all up with some positive reinforcement to share with among your peers.”
“I'll admit the prices can be a little high on some things. But not all. The atmosphere here is the seller. Just walking in, the smell makes you want to get to work on whatever job you have to do”
“Always enjoy shopping here! Little unorganized but the staff knows where everything is! Prices are good compared to other hardware stores! Nice thing is there are random auction items owner has bought scattered around the store for sale! Kinda neat to pop in and see the new buys!”
“I travel all over northeastern and central PA and visit all HD stores regularly. I left this store thinking wow this was the best Home Depot (Wyomissing) Super friendly and I didn't get the feeling the workers were avoiding me. I writing this because a few coworkers mentioned this store to me without me saying a word about my experience. They are doing it right!”
“This has quickly become my "go to" store. The staff alone is top notch. They are ALWAYS willing to help. Some staff that have assisted on multiple trips have been Mary and Angel in lawn in Garden. Very professional and informative. On this particular visit I was looking for an air conditioner trying to beat the summer rush Richard was SOO HELPFUL. Answered every question I had we researched information together he EXCEEDED my expectations. I would be remiss if I did not share the experience. To add to it a manager happened to be walking through the area when we were chatting and assisted with bringing down the unit off the top shelf. They were ALL very kind, informative and professional. I find myself drawn there for these reasons. Top notch store. I also got a bird bath!! ❤️”
“At first I was going to give the store a 3 star because none of the employees knew where basic hardware was, but then I met Ryan and he was very helpful. He helped me cut down my 4 x 8 easily. He was also decent at carrying a conversation during my time waiting for the boards to get cut. My recommendation is for the employees to get more familiar with their store and the products. Also, for them to practice deducing where items may be based on the isle’s contents.”
“Great assortment of winter weather items. Love the VET parking and recognition from the associates. Do not like the new hardware/landscaping tool area.Havent had a non self serve lane open the last 4 times I went in except 1 at the pro service door.”

623 Penn Ave, Reading“I read the prior reviews and was very disappointed. Contacted the manufacturer of Baldwin with no help for my problem. Then contacted the Baldwin Brass Center and eventually ended up speaking with Ovi Moldovan who was very helpful in solving my problem with a door lock by Baldwin that we purchased from Compleat Baldwin. I would highly recommend purchasing from Compleat if you want good service afterwards. FYI my son is an executive with a major construction company and he recommended Baldwin hardware for our entire house and orders from Compleat.”
“I love shopping at this Home Depot. Everything is well organized and the workers always seem to want to help me versus me having to go and find someone and wait 15 min. Great place here!”

500 Madison Ave, Reading“Well organized and clean hardware superstore. All of the items and departments that you would normally expect are here. The parking lot has a curbside online order pickup area with several parking spots allocated to that. Handicap accessible parking spots. Contractor loading and specific parking areas as well as dedicated entrance exit for contractors. There are a set of lockers for online order pick up, as well. Double door entry with motion sensors. Very helpful for anyone in a wheelchair that needs access. Many functioning self checkout registers were available. Friendly and helpful staff. If you know what you need ahead of time, you can look up the items on their website or with their dedicated app. This can help you know exactly where to look for your specific items”
“Incredible shoe selection, so many options it hard to choose, ended up leaving with a pair of Redwings and some Irish setter's, could not be more happy with my purchases. Great customer service as well who do their best. GOD BLESS!!”
