It's small, but there's lot of variety at Hildacy. Trails, open fields of grass, streams...pretty much whatever natural spaces you're into. It's not a popular spot so you can expect some privacy even in summer. Free entrance and parking

Beautiful preserve and a nice area to walk and be in nature. I even got to help plant trees!

Wonderful little area in the heart of Delco. Relatively easy hiking trails. Next time I'll need to bring my binoculars since it looks like an excellent site for birding.
Hildacy Preserve is all that remains of a 300-acre land grant from William Penn to a local tanner and his family. Once prized for its mature oak trees, the land was slowly cleared for timber and agriculture. By the late 1800s, only one small grove of trees remained.
In 1936, Hilda and Cyril Fox (hence the name “Hildacy”) bought the property. As the surrounding area was developed, the Foxes were determined to keep their land open for wildlife. In 1981, Mrs. Fox donated Hildacy to Natural Lands. Since that time, we have worked to restore the woodlands, meadows, and wetlands to a more natural state.
Hildacy is owned and managed by non-profit conservation organization Natural Lands, which is member supported. Learn more at natlands dot org.
