Good Hope Animal Hospital is a fantastic place to bring our dog. Staff is very friendly, helpful and understanding. Ours doesn't do well with other dogs around and they've always made arrangements so that we can either enter through a different door or plan accordingly so that he can go straight into a room when we arrive. Dr. Davie is wonderful, attentive and helpful.

If I could have given a negative 10 I would have. They have been my vet since 2010. They sold to a corporation & doubled rates. My dog has been treated there many times for stomach problems that take meds, shots & special diet to get well. Sunday she got sick & spit up Monday. I called at 9am when they opened & was told they couldn’t see her until Tues & I made appointment. They told be to cancel if she doesn’t throw up any more, so I did. They have treated her for over 6 years with this stomach problem. They NEVER TOLD ME TO CANCEL KNOWING HER HISTORY!! Today Thursday she threw up all kibble she had ate & was lethargic, I called and was told they couldn’t see her until Tuesday 5 days later!!! I explained how they had me cancel earlier appointment & they know how sick she gets & shes 13 years old. Then she said I can talk to the vets & see if as an emergency they can fit her in today but the office call will be $122 instead of $65. I said ok, after about 20 minutes she came back on & said they can’t see her & suggest you go to an emergency animal clinic. I did and it cost a lot, but they gave her iv under skin nausea shot with pills for her. They were great & caring UNLIKE THE GOOD HOPE ANimal HOSPITAL I HAD BEEN GOING TO FOR OVER 15 years!!! Do NOT GO to this VET B/C when your dog needs them most they will treat you like you are not a loyal customer & treat your dog like a dog they don’t care if they die because they are too busy to treat them!!

I'd recommend the Veterinarian Dr. Weekes to anyone! He seems to truly care about not just our pet, but our concerns and opinions as well. The staff is very nice, I trust them with my pet.

Very kind veterinarian and staff. My cat was at ease even through two shots.

I adopted a dog which was a patient of theirs and I called them about certain things regarding the dogs health and they got back to me with suggestions. I really appreciated that kindness! Thank you!!

Our pooches (both living and one who has passed on to the rainbow bridge) have been patients of Good Hope Animal Hospital since the late 90s, but the Good Hope that existed back then is long gone. This facility used to be helpful, courteous, and most importantly, took the time to truly care for their patients. Ownership switched a few years ago, and the quality of care has suffered as a result. Today, it seems the focus is on profit rather than first-class care. The counter staff is rarely ever friendly, the doctors always appear rushed, and they seem to look for problems or "suggest" unnecessary services all in the name of profit. Even the cleanliness of the facility has suffered in recent years, and it's such a shame since, at one time, this facility was the best animal hospital in central PA.

I can't heap enough praise on these folks. Over the course of 15 years and two cats in Good Hope's care, I've never had occasion to complain. The staff and doctors have always been kind, considerate, and compassionate... to me and my pets.

Every member of the staff is friendly and their love for pets is obvious. Dr. Kelly is a delight! She is very thorough and caring. We’ve been going to Good Hope Animal Hospital for 14 years and we’ve always been extremely pleased with the service.

I recently took my dog to Good Hope Animal Hospital for her yearly check-up. I am a new patient as my long time vet retired. Not knowing what to expect, I was nervous going. However, I was greeted with warmth by the front desk staff. I had a great visit with the vet tech and Dr. Kelly. Dr. Kelly was super awesome and got right on the floor with my dog! The tech that was working with her that day was amazing as well! They took great care in answering my questions! When I checked out, I was allowed to take my dog to the car and come back to pay for her appointment. I really appreciated the kindness and treatment my pet was given!

Good hope animal hospital killed our cat.On Dec 11th, 2023, we had our 7 month old cat Loki scheduled for a standard neutering surgery at Good Hope Animal Hospital. Good hope had already done their bloodwork for him, and there was no indications that on that day, Loki would pass away just before they began the procedure. They claim, that as soon as they gave him the anesthesia, he flat lined. I think that if you believe that, you’re a fool. There was absolutely nothing wrong with him, he was a prefectly healthy cat, and I do believe, that they are at fault. Clearly whoever is back there doing the surgeries, needs to be in a different profession. If I were you, I would not trust them with my animals life, I just wish I had known before bringing him there.
