Horrible place. Uncomfortable energy. Poor customer service. I attempted to get services on two occasions. Only becsuse of convenience. I was refused. both times. Even though they
were empty. The initial comment was and I quote "We don't do all nails " I said ..Explain " We do gel" How much? $$ 65 75. OKAY! The answer was still NO! It was 5:30 pm. Store closes at 7pm..SUSPECT!!!! Note the whole interaction was to refuse service. I found out through others experiences. This is common behavior. "if someone shows who they are.....BELIEVE THEM!!

The customer service is below zero. I was racially profiled when I asked how long for feet and nail combo. The business was completely empty and I was told they were fully booked and could not see me.
As a professional I have never received this treatment from a small business with limited clientele.

This basic powder gel manicure took an hour and 40 minutes because they slow grinded the old gel off and cost $50. 3 stars because it looks fine but it was the longest, most expensive gel manicure I’ve ever had.

My goodness, we are so disappointed in the professionalism of the nail technician, dropped polish??? Not cleaning up nail polish that spilled on side of toes? I used to go and would tip big time, felt obligated. Will be looking for someplace else.

I am very satisfied 100% with Essence Nails, Matamoras PA 18336. The staff works hard to please the customers, and it shows in their work. I leave there feeling and looking real nice, manicured and pedicured. Thanks.

ETA: They have definitely improved from 3 years ago. I've been going once a month for the past 6 months, and am happy everytime now! A little pricey, but worth it!
Disappointed. I do not get Mani's and Pedi's often, so I look forward to thoroughness. The girl, I should not assume, because IDK for sure, looked to be barely school aged. She did not get any cuticles, like she was afraid and hesitant to do the whole thing. When I pointed it out, she got a little bit. The massage was ok. Then with ther fingers, the same thing. I again pointed pointed it out, and the patriarch of the place finally came over and did them better. They did not clean my nails, or even have me wash my hands. Every other place I've been to EVER was much more thorough! First and last time here!

Discrimination against a person with a disability is against the law. We were violently kicked out by the manager at this nails salon when tried to explain that my medical alert service dog is not a pet. My sister in-law wanted to treat me to a manicure on my birthday - When we walked in the woman manicurist said to us in a rude tone “No pets allowed, get out!”. I calmly explained to her that my service dog is not a pet and that by law they may not denied me access or business to what she replied - yelling “I don’t want your businesses, get out!” The man manicurist stud up leaving his client to violently kick us out yelling insensibly “GET OUT!” He opened the door and pushed us out and then proceeded to close the door in our faces. That was extremely humiliating and traumatic for us. I wonder how shocking it also must’ve been to the customers that witnessed such a violent act of discrimination against a person with a disability like me.I have filled a report about this business to the department of civil rights.

I was excited to take myself and 2 daughters for manicure/pedicures. I asked them if they took children via phone call and they said yes. When we arrived the owner was stomping around angry that my children were present: and was screaming at the nail techs for allowing us in. Owner made them remind me “this is a salon not a playground” and my children didn’t touch anything they were not supposed to and were extreme calm and very well behaved. I had absolutely no idea why upon walking in aw were treated in such a hostile and unwelcoming manner. He stood present the entire time we were getting pedicures and if my children wiggled their toes in the water he physically came to move their feet. Was quoted 25$ for the kids mani/pedi. He told me half way through he would not be accepting our manicures but would still be charging same price. I was baffled, and outraged I even called him out on it…it made no difference. My “spa”pedicure took 15 minutes and barley got a massage. My French pedicure lining looks horrible. The prices were outrageous and did not match the service, plus the owner was incredibly rude, awkward and highly unprofessional… Go ANYWHERE else if you want good prices and good service. The owner destroyed the good vibe I was trying to create for myself and kids.Service: Pedicure

Went in today one person sitting down no one being helped and three workers and asked to get a full set and not even a time of when they can do it automatically no time sorry and how does this place stay in business absolutely awful customer service

I went to this place and I used to go here all the time but this time that I went I was getting gel nails done after the second day of having them they started chipping, so I went in and had them fix the few of them that were chipping free of charge and the second day after getting them fixed they all started to chip and come off. I'm very disappointed in this and I'm very disappointed with the way the guy did my nails he didn't dry them for more then 10 seconds in between each coat. I highly do not recommend going to this place.

Essence nails is a great clean place to get your nails done. This is the only place I will get my gel manicure and pedicure in the Tristate area. Tiffany is amazing and takes her time with everyone she works with.Services: Waxing
