I can not speak highly enough about Animal Hospital of Rye. I would recommend them over and over again. We drove from Buffalo, NY to get a CT scan for our dog, since the waiting lists in Buffalo, and the prices, were astronomical. From my first phone call with Rye, I knew they were good hearted people who are in animal care for the right reasons. Every person I spoke to on the phone was SO kind, thoughtful, and understanding. It was very easy to get through to schedule, no run around. They were able to schedule us a week out (which was quick compared to what I’d found), but since it was urgent, I was put on a waiting list and they called me back to get me in two days later. I drove down with my dog and stayed overnight in a hotel and then went to rye first thing in the morning. We had a consult with the Dr (who was amazing) and left our dog Rocko for the day for his scans. They called me just over an hour later that he was finished already! He is 12, so sedation scares me, but they did not over sedate him and he was jumping around (and making quite the ruckus for them ) when we came to pick him up. The doctors and staff are AMAZING. They have also sent his reports over to multiple referrals for us, which I know can be time consuming, but have never once made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. The only issue I have with this place, is that every other Vet isn’t just like them! THANK YOU to the team at Animal Hospital of Rye. For making a very tough situation, so much easier for us.

Dr. Kirmayer has been so great! I took my French Bulldog there after being referred from our primary vet for ultrasounds. My frenchie requires a lot of specialized care when at the vet (he does not like to be touched and puts up a good fight). He had patience and really seemed to care about what was going on with my little guy. When the results came back with nothing wrong, he took the time to listen to me and really work through the issues to figure out what was next when I insisted something was definitely wrong. I can’t say enough how great this place has been, even the front of the house staff when calling/scheduling appointments, everyone has been so kind! I felt such compassion. It was a bit of a drive for me, but definitely worth it! I also felt everything was fairly priced, as well!

We are re so very thankful for Dr. Kirmayer and the staff at Rye. When we began our journey a year ago with our Willow girl she was very sick and her condition was unknown. Dr. Kirmayer spent countless visits with her and started treatment for Cooper Storage disease the compassion and caring he showed was amazing (even though she would always threw him for a loop and he once told us he loses sleep knowing she was on his schedule the next day because it was always something new and unexplained with her). We thank god everyday for Dr. Kirmayer and the compassionate staff at Rye for the care they have and still provide Willow. She actually loves to go to Rye, without them she may not be here today. She today is a healthier, happier dog thanks to Rye.

After going to another vet for my dogs tumor on his ear and they wouldn't do anything about it. We came here and if it wasn't for Dr Alan Kirmayer, DVM. My Rossco would still have it on his ear. I am so glad that he took it off. So we wouldn't have to put him down. Dr Alan Kirmayer, DVM was really nice.

I made an appointment with Dr Kirmayer after having been to several different veterinary offices with no resolution of the issues with my greyhound. After a thorough work up, IV fluids were given and adjustments were made to medications used. My dog is already more comfortable than she has been at any time since Thanksgiving. I have made plans to begin using the Animal Hospital of Rye for all veterinary care for my two greyhounds. The trip from Camp Hill is well worth it for the quality of care rendered. Thanks to the entire staff for their compassion and care.

For 7 years I took my chihuahua to dr kirmayer for his heart condition. Rocky went on to live till almost 19. Dr k and his staff are so great and truly care about your pets. Rocky got the best care and was always closely monitored with blood work and check ups and medication adjustments. more recently, we saw dr harpster for a luxating patella issue with my youngest chihuahua and he was honest and up front about everything. Spent plenty of time explaining things as well as all of our options and we are so happy that our pup doesn't need surgery for now. whether it's a heart condition or ortho needs- I highly recommend Animal Hospital of Rye!

I absolutely love this place, expensive but honestly they saved my dogs life. Dr K is honest, blunt and lays down the facts. Cowboy is lucky because if his condition would have went any further, untreated, I would have lost my best friend. Thank you Dr K, for being an amazing physician to my boy.

Was told my animal was gonna die in weeks to months and would cost thousands for a biopsy. Although did nothing and he is alive and healthy nothing wrong with him.
