PER WPXI:
The owner of a Butler County repair shop is facing new charges and new accusations from people who want their cars and money back.
“It was a beautiful BMW Coop but now it’s completely trashed,” said a local woman.

A woman who didn’t want to share her name said she dropped off her car at Oilology on Route 228 in Cranberry Township at the start of January. She hit a deer so her bumper and front light needed to be repaired. She said she was told it would take just over a week.
It’s been almost three months. She already paid the owner, Keith Smith, $900. Her insurance company gave him $4,000, she said.
“Every week, he was putting me off, putting me off and not calling me back,” said the woman.
She got worried when she saw Channel 11′s story that Smith is accused of illegally renting out customers’ cars, driving them around when he’s supposed to be fixing them and charging customers for work that was never done.
“It’s very frustrating. I haven’t been able to sleep,” said the woman.
She went to get her car back but said it was in worse condition than when she dropped it off: a broken window and door, and parts of the trunk missing.
“Now my car won’t start. It’s smoking,” said the woman. “In addition, the loaner car he gave me belonged to another customer who lives in McKees Rocks and he’s had this man’s car for a year.”
That customer told police he actually gave Smith two cars to repair. Police said Smith loaned the other car to his friend for over a year. Cranberry Township police have arrested Smith.

Brought my car to have it fixed and inspected. They held my car for 2 months, while they drove it all over town, running up toll-fees in the middle of the night, supposedly clearing out codes. I finally cut my losses, paid $400 to get my car back not fixed, not inspected, and my brand new rims scratched because they can’t change tires with out damaging rims. Both rims!
Apparently they’re “too busy” to do good work. I trusted them and they took advantage. Oh and they stole my code reader and didn’t return my registration/insurance card.
Beware! Be aware!

This place is ran by thieves, addicts, and crooks. In the past, I had my vehicle there, and when OnStar notified me that my vehicle had left the area, into Ohio, I was shocked. I put an alarm notification on my vehicle to let me know if it left 5 miles from the shop. OnStar stopped the vehicle and notified the Ohio state police.

For well over 10 years I’ve employed services from this business for inspections and other repairs all have been timely and without much delay over parts issues even had framework done I do work on my own vehicles as my dad was a mechanic and businessman as well.l have done and do my own work including electronic work which I do . My dad was an owner of a parts store in the past Lincoln auto parts on Lincoln Avenue so I know auto repair from both sides of the fence, i’ve even gone over checking his work pulling wheels and such for brakes in the work as it has been excellent at no time had an issue with the work done and I understand how the politics can work with repairs and issues but I felt comfortable with this business doing work on my vehicle with hands on own personal verification. my dad also worked for some of the big box top names as parts service manager for a very famous auto repair operation and for some of the requests from higher management for him to perform on customer vehicles was a alarming ( Unnecessary deceptive part replacement ) would love to get into details on that but back to the main issue I had a conversation with Smitty late last year and it was about how his business had been affected by a number of things previous building being sold that he was renting out of that he had to abruptly move which put undue strain on his business as well as Covid and the issues with that and mechanics , I can testify to since Covid a lot of problems in the marketplace from my own experience I’m having . finding reliable mechanics to have on board seem to be a challenge for Smitty at that point don’t know the full story or why he may have done what he did but finding a reliable business is also a challenge these days this whole thing raises a? For what caused all this.. for the experience that I’ve had with the business it’s only been very positive for me and again referring to double checking the work this business has done for me and in the past I’ve had horrible experiences with dealerships and the like I feel bad for those that had a negative experience I know what that’s like We are in a time we are local independent business is being distressed and destroyed but something needs done to help preserve our small local businessman .Services: Steering & suspension repair

This place is horrible, do not take your car there. As you drive up to the place you can just tell this place is a dump. I worked for this guy along time ago. He uses customers cars to let his employees drive them around for personal use, and to lend out while others cars are getting fixed. His prices are through the roof. I never talk bad about a place I always try to find the good in everything. But I do not recommend this guy or Keith's towing on the other side of cranberry. Best place to take your car is Firestone by the dairy queen on 19 by the fun for all!
