I recently called to get information about servicing my Ariens snowblower, which I purchased from David Lightkep, Inc. several years ago. The woman with whom I spoke on the phone was incredibly rude. I was attempting to get information about servicing, including getting a sense of how many hours of service it typically takes to perform a tune-up on an Ariens snowblower so that I have at least a general idea of the approximate costs. I understand that they don't want to provide a quote over the phone since they don't know the details of the work, and I certainly wasn't expecting a quote (which I made clear). However, this person was terrible about not providing me any information, mostly because she was just so rude. At a minimum, just be nice ...and I'd probably end up giving you my business. However, I'm now definitely going to have my snowblower serviced elsewhere, and I also definitely will never purchase any new equipment from them. This score/review does not reflect this business overall; instead, it reflects the extremely poor customer service provided by this particular employee. That being said, many other reviews I see online suggest that this poor customer service is a common issue with David Lightkep, Inc. and is not specific to only this single employee. It's a bit of a shame when a business is associated with such rudeness, but I guess the ownership doesn't care.

called for a blade replacement late saturday morning a month ago, they didnt have it but offered to fix and/or sharpen old one to get by, super service, I could have cut tomatoes with the blades when they were done. fast forward to last Saturday, they had the exact nut and washer for the 20 year old zero turn when one of the deck rollers fell off. They make it easy to be a return customer, thank you.

I wanted to spend my money at a family run buisness not a big box store or on line. I have never dealt with them and took a chance. I bought a 30" walk behind mower for my home. Great people to deal with! They went above and beyond to help me! I'll be back!!

I decided to take a chance and switch shops for all my outdoor equipment. Although Lightkep is much further from me than the shop I've used for years, I would drive by it a few times a week. I took my Stihl chainsaw first- which hadn't even been started in two years, and it wouldn't start. I got it back in 5 days & it runs like a champ! I spent that Saturday cutting up wood for next winter.Eventually, I got all my equipment- Gas blower, weed trimmer and walk behind mower serviced piece by piece between late April and today (6/30/23). All but one item was serviced in under 6 days. My old shop was always 2-3 weeks if you went after March 15.The service at Leightkep is friendly, costs are competitive. Communication is open. The staff is very helpful. Hours of operation allow for early morning drop off and pickup. They even have Saturday hours 8-12. I'm glad I made the switch. Great people, even better service and attention to detail.

Recently got a walking lawn mower fixed and the turn around time was quick which was good and the technician who I talked to when I picked it up was nice. (The only reason I give this place 3 stars). Ask the prices of labor and repair costs before you do anything as they DO NOT call you to tell you this info before they complete the repairs. The price of labor was insane (more than car inspection) which was surprising. Also the front desk person could use a little more people skills.

I give this dealer the highest rating because of the service before, during and after the sale. I believe it is because of the high standards set by the owner, David Lightkep.I "had" a old Gravely 2 Wheel Walk Behind that I faithfully used for mowing, mulching leaves and blowing snow for over 25 years. It finally gave out. When I called Lightkep's to see if it was able to be fixed, they came to pick it up within a day or two. When I say "they" - I mean it was David Lightkep, the owner. He came on a Sunday to get it. Who does that?? When it was determined that some of the parts were unavailable, David went on a quest to find a way to keep me with a Gravely. He located a similar, but older tractor and used parts from my original tractor to upgrade it - new wheels, a Quick Hitch, etc.. He fully service this new hybrid machine and sold it to me for much less than it would have cost to rebuild mine. I was and am delighted.He went the extra mile. I can say enough about the leadership of this business. David Lightkep is a man of his word and he cares about his products and his customers. 5 STARS!! Bruce H. (Doylestown)

They sell the good stuff at reasonable prices, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.I called to have my lawn tractor picked up for repair but was given no indication as to when I would be called to setup a pickup time.After more than two days with no call back, I googled the issue and ordered the parts to repair it myself.Also, the woman on the phone always sounds as if you are just one giant inconvenience for her.I try to support local businesses, but they don't make it easy.

They alway say buy local but the assumption is the big box stores are cheaper. That is a misnomer.I went to Lightkep because I wanted to see the lawnmower I wanted to buy and hopefully have it faster than the online delivery estimate.David, is a quiet, patient, confident man that certainly knows his products.I never driven a 0 turn mover, but David patiently took me over to a grassy lot and guided me through how to drive a 0 turn mover.The price he quoted me was the same as the big box store and I could have it the next day!When he arrived to delivery the mower, he then instructed my Mom on how to operate the mover.I highly recommend David Lightkep.Buy local and get treated like family.

I called Lightkep back in May looking for a new Simplicty Lawn Tractor. David was very sincere and informed me that they hadn’t received much inventory since 2020 but he took down my information and told me he would call if they got any in. Fast forward to August, I got a call from David saying they just got two new units in. I went over to check it out, made the purchase and had the unit delivered to my house within an hour. David was very knowledgable, setup everything and made sure the unit was working properly before leaving. I couldn’t ask for more in the whole process.

I have tried to support this small business with multiple items serviced. Most recently called to have a large Toro Z Turn picked up and repaired. That was more than 6 months ago. I have called back twice - each time with several minute pauses - followed by “Yes, we have your ticket here.” Nothing has happened. Repair guys seem great.

I really try to give smaller companies my business. I try to buy locally, from stores that are not big-box retailers. But sometimes, it's so hard.I understand that these are trying times, but this company didn't want my business. I started by sending an e-mail from their website, asking if they had an inventory list. I got no response after 2 business days.So I took a trek up there, about a 15 minute drive from my home. There's a table outside, a crudely written sign, and some taped off areas. I contemplate leaving, but another customer had called them. A lady came out of the entrance, and she looked angry to be there. Certainly not happy.She said, to me, "you got a pickup too?" I said, "No, I was looking to see what you had available?" She says, "snowblower? we don't have any."Unfortunately, that was the end of the interaction - she blew me off. Sure, I'm not a contractor, but I was ready to drop some serious cash to order a snowblower. I'm an engineer by trade, so generally have the tendency to go "all out," as they say.I can only imagine what future interactions with this company would be like. Even if you're a local contractor - just buy online. Why bother?

Don't go to a big box store!!!! Lightkep has everything you need. BETTER QUALITY equipment at the same price!! PLUS BETTER SERVICE!! They can fix what they sell, if you have a problem you can deal with them direct!! Good luck having your riding mower fixed or maintained at Home Depot!!!!!! Don't be fooled that your getting a deal at a big box!!! Lightkep is the best!!!!!
