I spent almost $1,000 on vinyl records, thinking they would be in decent condition. Almost all records are worthless and scratched up. A reputable company would not have put the records up for auction with the condition they were in without a disclaimer. I purchase a lot of records online and this is the only time I have seen records in this condition offered up with no warning.

I would highly recommend Phil and his team to anyone who needs help handling estate planning. They were all very responsive, polite, and easy to work with. It definitely lightened the burden of having to try and figure everything out, and kept me from needing to be super hands on during a very tough time. Thanks again!

Our estate process was laborious and complicated, and Hess Auction Group handled the entire process with tact, care, professionalism, and outstanding ethical practices. Every member of staff I worked with was knowledgeable about their area, friendly, efficient, and happy to help, from the young gentlemen who helped to clean out our house and barn space, to the administrative staff and the auctioneer who worked with us directly. The staff were precisely on time for all appointments. Where we lacked knowledge in the process, they were able to provide guidance and resources. If you need to know more about the process, always reach out and they're happy to answer questions. Where many of our items to sell were in disrepair or needed some attention (including 29 vehicles and assorted barn-stored car parts), they were able to see the value in these items. They were realistic about the condition of our items to sell and their potential value (much of which was low), but not unkind in sharing their perspective. They worked with me to identify ways to keep estate costs low while making smart choices for efforts that would enhance the value of our property. The staff went above and beyond to prioritize items of higher value (vehicles), putting in some additional time, money, and effort to help these items maximize their value as much as possible, even while outcomes couldn't be guaranteed. Their advertising efforts yielded a significant amount of buyers for the sale of our home and the results of that sale exceeded our expectations.One example of their efforts and care is as follows:One of my father's older vehicles with sentimental family value was not running, and showed signs that it needed both repair and cleaning. Hess Auction Group was able to remove the vehicle and initiated the process of trying to get it running again. They did some minor repairs and detailed the inside of the car, sending me pictures of it all cleaned up. When I came to the live sale, they showed me the vehicle again, giving me and my family some time to sit with it and take pictures. They were welcoming, introducing me to the people who helped work on the car, the folks in charge of the sale, and even the owner of Hess Auction Group. My mother and I even had the opportunity to speak to the buying audience about the car and share its story before it was sold. This one example really shows the care, dedication, and professionalism of Hess Auction Group. I highly recommend them.

Three gentlemen from Hess Auction Group arrived on time, moved everything from our home extremely efficiently (even the extremely heavy, oversized sectional sleep sofa from the basement!). They were great problem solvers and so easy going. We would highly recommend Hess Auction Group to anyone who could use their services.

Would never purchase anything from this auction ever again. Drove a hour to pick everything up. Everything that I bid on was BROKE busted, glued, taped. All junk that should have been thrown away. The ladies that worked there had an attitude. If you asked them a question they rolled their eyes like you were stupid. Very shady why would anyone want broken glass?

Wanted to take some old primary pyrex, phones, vintage Barbie dolls to this auction house, the lady on the phone wanted pictures and acted as though she didn’t want my business. Taking my items to another auction house ??♀️

Staff is pleasant and helpful. They offer such a wide and varied array of antiques, collectibles, and even folk art and don’t charge you the typical 25% surcharge. You never know what treasure you will find!!!!

While they don't ship items, they are very clear on what they will or won't do. Any issues had previously in reviews are purely buyer not bewaring and reading the clear description of shipping/pickup terms. Both times I've come to pick up stuff the staff have been very friendly. Today I came to pick up a very heavy item and one of their employees offered to hold the door for me and walk to my car to help open it (while raining super hard). I couldn't find my keys so they offered to hold said heavy item and were understanding when I stupidly left my keys on a counter inside. They helped me out so much and that made my day. Had to write a review about it.

I purchased a lot at an online sale. They were happy to take my money $250 for it. They claim they tried to contact me, but I received nothing from them in regards to shipping. They resold my items and kept the money!! THIEVES!!! WARNING!!!
