February 2021 by James Woods
VERY strange experience with this company. I called in and spoke with a person named Dennis on Saturday, February 13. He seemed to have limited knowledge and asked me to call Lori (sp?), his wife I believe, on Monday...and insisted she would be more helpful. She apparently runs the business and he is (apparently) her assistant. I called two days later on Monday, February 15, and left Lori a fairly detailed message about my interest in Morgans. Two weeks went by and she still hadn't called back. So I called them AGAIN on Monday, February 22. Dennis answered the phone, and for whatever reason he now insisted on answering my questions--even though he had previously insisted I call his wife, due to his lack of information/knowledge about the cars. And he seemed oblivious as to why she wouldn't return my phone message, as a prospective customer (after two weeks of waiting). It almost seemed like this was their standard procedure to not call people back. This is a really unfortunate way to treat (prospective) customers. I have been a car collector for years, and have always been interested in the Morgan marque. I worked with Bill Fink (now deceased) and his daughter, Tcherek, out in San Francisco, at Morgan Cars USA. They were always incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and polite. Top-notch people in all respects. In fact I was just in touch with Tcherek a week or so ago. They are now out of business, unfortunately, which is why I contacted Morgan Cars Mid-Atlantic. Although i am sorry I did. And oddly enough, for whatever reason, "Dennis" made it a point to start criticizing the Governor of Pennsylvania, when we spoke on February 13. Weird! I will not under any circumstances do business with this shop.I just read their response. To be fair, I did tell Dennis he was acting like a horse's a**. But that was AFTER he said "It's none of your business how we run this company". What a charming guy! I have not received a call back from Lori. She might have dialed the wrong number, I don't know. If so, that's an honest mistake. It wasn't until today, that I realized Dennis's aberrant behavior. I was actually on a waiting list a few years ago at Morgan Cars USA for TWO Morgan Roadsters. When it became apparent that it was futile, Tcherek happily sent my deposit back. Based on recent information, I had renewed interest and was looking to be added to the list. That was all. I wasn't trying to buy a car today. I know they are not available. Why Dennis was so vehement the I NOT talk to his wife today, i have no idea. Either way....weird!
