ZERO STARSI rent cars every single month while traveling. I typically don't use budget but I was told to give them a try and maybe they could be my main rental car service moving forward. We picked up a car from Latrobe Airport on Thursday 12/07 and would be returning it to Pittsburgh airport on 12/11. I'm not sure if it was because we were returning at a different airport that you guys decided to give me the worst car in the lot but it was completely unacceptable. I'm the last person to complain or do a review on something but I promise you, I will be posting all the pictures and videos I took of this rental car online for everyone else to see. Thank god my 5-month-old daughter wasn't traveling with me because I would have NEVER put her safety in harm's way with a POS car like this and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if you guys end up in a lawsuit if that car is put back on the road without any repairs. Here's a list of the issues below.1. Inside plastic piece as you open the drives door was completely ripped out and caught your foot every time you stepped into the vehicle.2. Anything you go over 40 MPH the car shakes to a point that if you don't put two hands on the wheel and slow down you could completely lose control.3. As you're driving down the highway, the Parking Break light would just pop on at random times.4. The alignment was completely off and rips to the right so bad that you cannot take your left hand off the steering wheel.5. Going down big hills on your breaks, would cause the entire car to shake and make a loud noise.6. The windshield wipers probably hadn't been replaced in years which makes it almost impossible to drive in the rain7. Radio didn't work at all8. I couldn't tell you the last time the inside front windshield was cleaned, and we had to wipe it ourselves or there was zero percent chance we could see out (especially with the rain and the broken windshield wipers).And for those of you that'll ask, why didn't you call, I sat on hold for 25 minutes before giving up because I couldn't speak to someone at this specific airport.I'll be posting the pictures and video's I took to social media to hopefully save another family who will probably be traveling for the holidays some time. USE THE OTHER PROVIDERS AT LATROBE AIRPORT THE ADDITIONAL MONEY IS WORTH YOUR FAMILY'S SAFETY.

Budget just charged me $237.54 with no explanation for a prepaid rental agreement that was supposed to be $64.44. You need to do better than this, Budget...

The car was nice the staff on location was very friendly and helpful. However, the car was hit by another driver on my way home and dealing with roadside assistance was a NIGHTMARE. It took the HOURS to pick the car up and failed to replace the car in a timely manner. Customer service was not helpful at all. I ended up with NO car and had to pay the full bill and was told I would have deal with customer service for a refund.

I made an online reservation, already paid, and when I went to pick up my rental car they flat out REFUSED to honor my reservation. I believe this was due to the woman working knows me personally and does not like me. You don't have to like anybody but you should be a professional and do your job! I had my driver's license, debit, and credit cards. All the requirements. She stated they don't accept Mastercards although they have a sign hanging up that says they do! Also on their website it says they do. I even pulled this up and showed her and she refused. I also called their customer service and the representative said they accept Mastercards and it was strange that she wouldn't accept mine. So they made me cancel my reservation & charged me a $150 cancelation fee for something completely not my fault! This is so unethical, unprofessional, and just down right RUDE. Do not try renting from them.

I made my reservation for a midsize car arrived and the man wouldn't adjust the price n tried giving me a compact car. Then refused to use my visa card. I called service support and was informed that this location in fact takes Visa or Mastercard logo debit/credit cards. The gentleman was just rude. Flat out horrible service 7/14/23

Well drop off location does not allow after hours dropoff. So we head to drop the car off and return the next morning to drop key off. There is no key drop off which cost my husband 2 of his busy work schedule to ride me back there to drop key off. Such an inconvenience......

Only 1 star because they will not let me choose no stars. Terrible customer service when you lost something in a car you rented. Will never rent through them again.

I had picked up a rental from Budget at the Pittsburgh but the seats were very uncomfortable for my back. I stopped by the Latrobe airport location and they were super nice and were able swap it for another model that was much more comfortable. Thanks!

The people here are super nice and helpful. In my previous pickup I took the car and after half an hour I figured out that the tires are a bit worn out. I returned to the place and they changed the car for me. Even I got a free upgrade from midsize to full-size SUV. After returning the car, they applied a promotion which was really unexpected :)I definitely recommend the place. Keep up with the good job!

Overall, despite an unfortunate circumstance that I just experienced, Budget is/has been a reliable and incredible car rental company with great customer care for many years for me. My personal car was not stable/safe to drive home from Pittsburgh to NJ for Christmas, and made it ~40 miles after a botched Pep Boys repair (i know...my family mechanic was busy). So I was stranded at a Hampton Inn in New Stanton right off the PA turnpike but...Budget Car Rental to the Rescue! The guy who helped me was super friendly & informative, and he set me up with a new and really clean metallic grey Camry. As a lifelong Camry driver, I was excited to get to NJ in this beauty of a car for Christmas well before the winter storms. However, the car RPMs were jumping up and down and the steering was unstable as well. I white knuckled for a bit, and again, after roughly ~40 miles, pulled into another Hampton Inn (the one in Somerset, PA saved Christmas, see review). The nightmare from there summarized: I called the same Budget location/spoke with the same guy who provided the car & expressed it was unsafe, he doubted the car had any issues/somewhat disregarded my concerns/safety, said he test-drove it, I said "Yes, around the parking lot, not the turnpike", he bit his tongue and admitted this was true, provided a tow for the car and then haphazardly extended my rental from Friday 12/24 until Monday 12/27, he said "Whoops" and confirmed that he reversed the extension. The Customer Support Team was extremely helpful, apologized, logged the tow/correct end of trip, and corrected the spelling of my email (At the point of sale I handed the guy at the Budget location my phone with it typed out to ensure proper spelling...Yikes!). I woke up today Monday 12/26 and the bill was triple (~$1k). I read all the fine print everywhere, and although one individual dropped the ball, "Broke the Budget", and I was left stranded, one individual does not define a really great company. When I followed up, the District Manager/Airport Manager was an absolute superstar and consummate professional. She was an incredible listener and communicator and showed genuine care for my situation. Chelsea is a prime example of the company's mission and core values; provide value, care, and reliability to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction, and utilize creative problem-solving when necessary to achieve this goal. Budget really rose to the occasion and helped make a difficult situation much easier. I'm truly impressed, and will be a customer for life! *3 stars changed to 5 for incredible customer care and problem solving*

I had a reservation for 9 am. I arrived at 9:40 am to pick up my rental to find the gate still pulled down at the window, despite everything saying they open at 8 am. Hertz and Enterprise were open and no one knew any reason for no one being there. No signs indicating alternate hours posted anywhere and the airport information desk had no information. I called the office number and heard the phone ringing on the other side of the door then it went to the main budget customer service number. I was transferred 3 times and finally the last woman I spoke with canceled my reservation and refunded my charges after not being able to get a hold of any of the managers listed. She wasn’t able to leave any messages since mailboxes were full but opened a claim and I supposedly should be contacted about the inconvenience.
