We had a terrible experience trying to get someone to our house to do warranty work. Woody was very fast to come and install our stove and to take our $7000 check however it took many many phone calls and many back-and-forth to get them to come out to do work. In fact, we lost an entire season of burning our wood-burning stove, one thing after another, they kept telling stories they didn’t have someone to come. They didn’t come to our place. We shouldn’t be using it for our source of heat. They didn’t really sell stoves Just really a bad experience, I would not recommend them.

This company installed an excellent fireplace insert for us last winter. Works really well and we’re very happy with it. Called today 28 Nov 2023) to ask about getting a chimney cap installed after spending most of Sunday trying to rescue a bird that got stuck in our chimney. The person I spoke with at Woody’s insisted that her technicians installed a screen that prevents animals from entering the chimney. Given that a bird (a sizable bird, in fact) spent the day in our chimney, seems like she could be wrong. In response to my request to inspect the screen to ensure it’s properly installed (or installed at all!), she informed me that she would put us on the schedule for the spring (four months from now!) and that I would be charged $450 for a “cleaning.” At this point, I asked her to forget I called. All in all, I have to report that this was a very unpleasant interaction with a very unpleasant person. I guess I caught her on a bad day. BTW, the bird is fine :-)

When we were unable to get a response from any of the alaska stoker stove companys, on an issue we were having , i took a chance and called Woodys, they could not have been more helpful. They gave of thier time and helped diagnose our issue and was able to get us the part we needed. Great customer service. Thank you !

A few years back I went into Woodys looking for a part that I needed for reducing my stove pipe down for a used wood stove I picked up. When the owner realized I wasn't there to shell out thousands on a new stove he was very condescending and told me I'll have major issues with what I was doing. He told me my house would be full of smoke everytime I loaded the stove. I've never met a business owner so rude in my life. I ended up getting the part I needed online and had zero issues with smoke in the house. At the time I was renting a house and didn't want to purchase an expensive stove for a temporary situation. Now that I've purchased a home, I'm currently in the market for a new coal stove. Woodys is the closest to home, but guess where I won't be spending thousands of dollars.

If i could give a 0 I would. The woman on the phone was not knowledgeable and extremely rude. For refusing to tell me if they carry the brand and model of a blower for a coal stove and yelling at me that she would not sell me one it cost their company a customer. But don't worry amazon did not discriminate or give me a line of BS and didn't yell at me. The blower will be delivered tomorrow and probably at a fraction of the price. That is what you get for trying to give a local company your business.

I just finished reading all of the one star reviews on this page and I can't imagine how people can have such a different experience than I did. We decided to do an addition early in January this year and when looking into heating the room, we decided we wanted to see if we could afford to put in a gas fireplace. After going to three different fireplace stores, we chose Woody's based on their professionalism, patience with us, as we had many questions, and working within our budget. We did not find that they were any more expensive than the other two stores we had visited. So right from the beginning I was very impressed with everything that they did and the way they treated us. In addition, because of several delays with our contractor, we had to reschedule our fireplace installation twice and I never felt like Woody's was annoyed with our changing the dates. They always accommodated our construction schedule. I waited to do this review until the install happened and we were finally done with the project. So today we finally finished because Mike the owner had to come out to adjust something on our fireplace. Through the past several months I have spoken with Lisa on the phone and Mike himself and every single time they have gotten back to me either via email or with a phone call and we're extremely professional and kind. I told Mike today how impressed I was with this part of our project. Truthfully it was the only thing that went smoothly. I would highly recommend Woody's fireplace for anyone looking for a gas fireplace or other type of stove. There really wasn't even one aspect of the job that I could complain about. All was done with excellence and we are very satisfied customers!

The absolute opposite of my experience with another local fireplace store.They are knowledgeable, friendly and so helpful. When I had to pick up parts for an install, they had everything in stock. Even though I had never done business with them before, they applied a courtesy discount. Something they honored a second time when I picked up another item.A family owned business that deserves your support.

Installed two gas fireplaces about 6 mo ago which went really well. (No giant mess like I was expecting.) Installers were friendly, knowledgeable, tidy, & explained everything before leaving, with a don’t hesitate to call with questions. Keith was back yesterday with Tyler for a minor issue with one fireplace. Nice guys & same as before, excellent service, checked, adjusted, & cleaned “both” fireplaces. I would definitely recommend Woody’s!

Wow! Possibly the rudest owner of a business I have ever spoken to. He managed to be threatening and condescending at the same time.All I can say is buyer beware. I’d take a hard look at the five star reviews for being phony as all the one star reviews touch on the same subject.Incredibly rude customer service and horrible, expensive and non existent product support.
