I worked at this place horrible, horrible, horrible place them reviews with the one star are true I honestly don’t understand how they’re even still open untrained, forcing everyone to be med certified people given residents wrong medication and sweeping it under the rug the entire HR department, the entire staff absolutely don’t know what they are doing I will be reporting this business they truly need to be shut down!!!! And its so much more to be said and done don’t send your family here if you love them!!!!

Horrible place to work and place your loved ones at. Too much awareness to the neglect as well.I was told by the executive director that I was no longer employed when I reached out as a sub to work in January. Then I get a termination letter in the mail at the end of May due to not picking up a shift being on the sub list. I have a screenshot of the email the idiot executive director falsely terminated me in. I love the smell of a lawsuit in the air.

when I first started looking for residential schools for my son first thing I did go on google read reviews I said oh no my child would not be going here I visited 6 school some too far from home others shared rooms and others I just didn’t like I had no choice but to attend this school let me tell you from the minute I arrived I said wow I was amazed I felt so comfortable I met every staff I asked every question my son is 19 has been attending woods since February of 23 I waited this long to leave a review because I had to how things played out I see my son on his tablet everyday I visit my son every weekend I cook his favorite food when I go I always make sure he has his favorite snacks and so far everything been great the residential manager is amazing always returns my call no bruises, no marks his room is clean his clothes always clean, you have to work as a team you can’t just throw your kid away and expect everything to be ok yes it’s been days he wasn’t his best but I seen better days than bad I speak to his teachers I know every staff in the residential building 11 Willow way rocks I know some days workers are overwhelmed at times yes I know is not an easy job but when you leave your trust in God and work with them everything is easier every time I go visit Brian it amazes me how much he has changed he is not aggressive he is not anxious he don’t even call me as much as he used to lol but I call everyday 3 times on FaceTime the main key is be active with the school, work together I tell you I am amazed I see him first thing in the morning and every night before bed, my advice please don’t let these review make a decision for you go see for yourself but please be an involved parent

Based on my own experience I can describe Woods Services in one word, abusive. I was physically, emotionally, verbally abused, you name it. I will never forget when a male staff broke my finger, shoved me to the ground, and stomped on my feet several times. I will never forget when staff yelled in my face, and told me my mom didn't want me and that I would stay at Woods until I aged out. I will never forget all the staff, clinicians, care coordinators, nurses, administrators, and investigators that condoned all the abuse that I went through at this placement. I will never forget being forced through an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) based program for over two years until I got discharged. I will never forget when staff made fun of residents that were "greedy" with food. Providing a therapy that is controversial to the Neurodiverse community and condoning years of abuse is unacceptable. Any employee at Woods Services who chooses to continue working at Woods Services can stay out of my life. I'm now 19 years young, and at a different placement that I feel safe at and cared for, unlike Woods Services. Any parents, therapists, doctors, and insurance representatives thinking of sending their clients, daughter, or son here should steer clear and find elsewhere, unless you want them suffering from a possible eating disorder and PTSD.Update- I just went to get my finger checked and found out it is still broken and deformed and that I might need surgery to correct those issues. My family and I will be taking action against Woods Services once we get more information about the injury from a hand specialist doctor. That is a promise.

My now-elderly brother lived here for many years & was treated well for a good number of those years & given training in a few, though primarily menial areas of work. He has fond memories of his time here, for which I am thankful. Those are the semi-positives; the negatives though, are that he was not challenged enough to become a more responsible, capable working man and, somehow, he was able to get his hands on alcohol & cigarettes & no, these were not fabrications on his part because he is a developmentally disabled man. They were substantiated acts & we could not fathom how this happened. I get it that all people are entitled to make their own decisions when it comes to their care, but this was inexcusable & incredibly poor judgement on the part of the School (we knew it as the Woods School, not Woods Services). Thank goodness we found a much better place for him, an OPWDD group home in upstate NY with amazing, devoted care.

I called this morning to make sure my girlfriend that works there made it to work safe because her phone broke this weekend and she has no way to contact me and the weather is so crazy today but I was met with a attitude by Susan in redwood building and constantly getting hung up on for checking on the safety of my girl. If they treat their patients with the same attitude I was met with all morning, I would not recommend to anyone. Pointless attitude and laziness for a simple task. I still don’t have confirmation that my girl made it to work

Do not recommend this residence for no one! My daughter has come home with marks/bruises all over her body the only explanation they have given us is that she has hurting herself which is not true because she NEVER did that in our care. A lot of clothes and shoes that she needed went missing for no apparent reason.

I can't speak to the personal experiences of the people who have left one star reviews. But I have to say, they do not reflect my experiences seeing them care for my uncle over the past 35 years. The staff has been attentive and kind, we have always been kept informed of his health and other issues, and our visits have always been wonderful. There's a lot of unhappiness there, it's true. In a place like this, that's unavoidable. But the people who work there genuinely care. Again, I feel slightly aren't leaving this review and some people seem to have had very different experiences. And I don't know, maybe things are different outside of the areas for lifetime care of those with severe cases. All I can say is what I've seen and what I know, and I have seen wonderful people who do wonderful work.
