“Pretty good experience with them. I brought my baby girl in for her routine shots and check up. She is Shitzu and Yorkie mixed.The reception was nice when I checked in. We did wait maybe 45mins before we seen the actual vet. The assistant came into the room checked her out and asked questions then the vet came in. I did get some shampoo and medication ? for her itching.The Vet was very nice and informative. He answered all my questions.I do wish the assistant or Doctor explained how much everything was going to be because I was shocked at the $280+ cost once I got to the desk and had to leave without some items because I wasn't prepared to spend so much on medication. I got everything she needed and overall the experience was good.”

He was very kind and personable, extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about animals. He did not at all make us feel rushed as we had experienced at our previous vet. He gave us plenty of opportunities to ask questions and answered them clearly and thoroughly. They are the nicest people and was so gentle and competent with her. Dr Hiller shared what she thought the problem was and what her plan of care was. She also talked to me about some of the injections she thought would help, but confirmed with me the price and if I still wanted her to have it. The up front staff was so kind and got her records from my home vet so that they could give my cat the best possible care. I am so pleased that I found this clinic!”

“I could not recommend Drs. Flanagan enough. In July, we had to face the decision of saying goodbye to our 14-year-old boxer dog, Rusty. It was a devastating decision for both of us, but Dr. Robert reached out to us very quickly after my initial inquiry, was incredibly compassionate over the phone and said exactly what we needed to hear to know that this was the right decision and the right time.Dr. Robert and Dr. Karli came out to our home, were compassionate and caring with our best pal as we said goodbye to him. Dr. Karli gave us a shaving of Rusty's hair in a little heart-shaped tin. They made the arrangements for cremation and I was able to pick up Rusty within a week. The pet cremation company they work with gave us a paw-print impression and his remains are in a beautiful wooden box with an engraved plate.Making the decision to euthanize a beloved pet is an awful thing, but I commend this practice for helping us navigate a very painful time in our lives. To us, it was worth the money to be able to say goodbye to Rusty in our home.(The pic is Rusty from happier times- Such a handsome boy!)”

“What can you say about a place that takes good care of your furry loved ones. First I’d have to start off with saying I’m grateful to them and I appreciate them. My girl went in for her spay surgery a couple weeks ago and AVC took great care of her. The process was quick, they walk you through everything and the best part is they recommended a surgical recovery suit for my dog as an alternative to a cone. This alternative was an absolute game changer because I knew my dog would dread having to wear a cone and I’d probably have a lot of sleepless nights. A simple recommendation made her healing process so much more comfortable and a comfortable happy dog makes your life easier!! If you have pet care needs and you’re in the Christiana or New Castle area AVC is the place you want to go! You can’t put a price on peace of mind and peace of mind is exactly what you’ll get from them.”

“I've been going to Nonantum since it first opened in the 1980's. I don't live near Nonantum, and I pass at least 3 other vet offices on my way to Nonantum, but I have never considered going to a vet closer to home. Everyone there is compassionate and caring. They used to have the lowest prices around. They are quite a bit more expensive today, but so is everything else. I don't know how they compare price wise to other vets, because I haven't been to any other vets since discovering Nonantum. So, they may still be the lowest priced vet. I just don't know. The office is always clean and everyone there is always friendly. I have nothing at all bad to say about the place other than I very much miss Debbie Roberts, who started Nonantum in the 1980's. She passed way before her time. If you are looking for a new vet, Nonantum will not disappoint. I have yet to see a vet there that I didn't like a lot.”
