Very rude store Associate. Had a nasty way of talking that sounded immediately like “you are bothering me.“ I wanted to exchange a sweater. I ALWAYS wear a size large in Talbots clothing. Well this one was too tight in the armhole cut. That’s never been the case for me with a Talbots’s piece. Had the receipt from only two weeks ago and had the item tag, but had cut it off because I wasn’t expecting the sweater not to fit. However, I had it right there with the sweater and the register receipt. The Associate told me “We don’t do returns if the tag is cut off.“ I said “that’s not right, because right there it is.” She then looked at the register receipt and studied it like a parochial school nun in 1965 and then said “It’s written on the receipt here” in a tone of voice that implied I must be stupid or illiterate. Her overall demeanor was “I hate you, go away customer“. I said “ok I’ll take it to Harrisburg”. (Where I had bought the sweater.) Another Associate who I think was a manager looked up from her iPad long enough to say sternly “ it’s Talbots policy” to which I responded “OK, but all of that could have been said in a much nicer tone, and a lot more nicely”. I have dealt with the public all of my career. And always tried to be polite, pleasant, and make others feel cared about. Even when I was giving them bad news. It wasn’t really the Talbots policy I had an issue with, it was the associates facial expressions, tone of voice, and demeanor. Esp. the first one. WHY are people so rude and nasty these days? None of this had to happen in the manner that it did. I’m sad for these women. No joy. There are other Talbots and the online site, Thank Goodness.

I was so disappointed in the Lancaster Talbot's customer service yesterday. I have shopped there for decades, and never had an experience like that. It appeared that one customer was having a personal fitting, which was fine, but they had two saleswomen helping that one person in the dressing room. The main salesperson helping the other customer barely gave others in the dressing room the time of day (and she never left the dressing room), and the second saleswoman kept retrieving more clothes from the floor. When I asked a simple question, they said I could come back another time if I wanted to find a blouse that matched the skirt I was buying. I bought three items, but honestly I would have bought much more if I hadn't felt like I was crashing a private party. I waited more than 5 minutes for the second saleswoman to come out of the dressing room to ring up my order, and she told me she was in a rush because she needed to find a shirt for that person in the dressing room. WTH, Talbots? How about having one salesperson for a personal fitting and using your other salespeople to help other customers? I'll drive to a Philly store before I'll go back to the one in Lancaster.

I love shopping at Talbots. They have the styles that I love. I normally don't even have to try the clothes on since their sizing is very consistent.

I enjoy shopping at Talbot's the ladies there are very helpful. They will help you as much or little as you want. I admit I am a picky but good customer and they have given me good guidance. I only shop at Talbots because the quality is so good. They have nice discounts on a frequent basis. Thank you ladies for always making it a pleasant experience.Marilynn B

I would like to put a huge shout out to Diane!!!! My daughter was looking for an emergency dress to wear in a wedding, I called in and she searched the store from top to bottom, giving me item numbers to look up on line. After the call ended she even called me back with another option. My daughter then proceeded to the store and she helped her immensely. This is customer service to the max! Again thank you!!!!
