I attended a funeral for a friend. I enjoyed meeting other friends and the way they conducted the funeral. It was a first time at an African-American funeral.

I visited this church for the first time on Sunday. My 20 year old son was being baptized, along with five other people. Everyone was so kind, engaging, and genuine. As soon as I walked in two gentlemen greeted us. One asked where I purchased my African garb from. I replied that I got it in Phila. He enthusiastically said they're from Phila. They talked about the "old neighborhood" for some time. They invited me to the Diversity service the following Sunday. They bought also mentioned that they are Veterans. I mentioned that I have been serving Veterans for 30+ years at the VA. Once we got upstairs to the sanctuary and service. I felt so at home. I loved it and really enjoyed the singing, music and message.As I was leaving Sis Erma offered me some meals for the drive back to Phila. I learned that she is from Phila also...actually my old neighborhood. We had a sweet and wholesome conversation.This church reminds me of churches in the South. I left thinking, "this church is the South of the North". I am pleased that my son was lead BSBC.

I thank God for Brightside Baptist Church, my loving and faithful church family. This church made my family feel so welcome when we moved to Lancaster from NYC, joining the church in 2018. Our Brightside family supported my family through prayer and other gifts of love during my daughter's long hospitalization in 2022, encouraging us to believe God for a miracle of healing, which we thankfully received. And when my husband transitioned from this life last month my Brightside family was there for my family, manifesting the love and comfort of the Lord through our time of mourning. I encourage you to come to Brightside and experience the love and power of God in the lives of its people. As our church theme song says, "You are welcome to Brightside".

This review is mainly of the rental hall that they have. The rental hall is fairly spacious, it has good seating and tables, and there is some decent parking spaces. The staff are friendly. And the hall is maintained well and has good lighting. Overall, this is a great location to rent for events.Note - decorations are from Angie's Variety Shop.
