While my story did not have the happy ending I was hoping for, I have to publicly commend Doug and the Clone Store for their incredibly responsive and dedicated attempt to restore my damaged hard drive. The only thing scarier than having a back up drive fail before tax time is putting that drive into the mail to someone you have never met before in hopes that it can be saved. Doug communicated throughout the process, built trust and delivered on his promise not to charge me if he couldn't recover the data. I have had some heinous customer service experiences in the past two years, so when someone actually does what their website promises they will do, you can be sure I will shout it out and recommend them! My initial impression after speaking with the Clone Store in Lake City is very positive. The representative that I spoke to was courteous and knowledge. Great care was taken to understand the specifics of my situation and to explain the services the Clone Store provides that may meet the requirements of my data recovery issue. I'll be working with the Clone Store to attempt to save family photos and videos which have become inaccessible on our home server. I will update this review after the work has been completed. If you have a data recovery issue, definitely give them a call to discuss your options.

The Clone Store is not your everyday computer repair place. They are exactly what their website describes: data recovery professionals.I had a 1 TB external drive fail that contained some data that was important to my wife and me. (Note: After this experience, I am being much more careful with backups.) After trying to fix it ourselves and taking it to a local computer repair shop, The Clone Store was my only remaining option.It turns out that our drive had suffered both digital and physical damage. That said, TCS was miraculously able to recover nearly all the data we had on the drive--out of 750+ GB of data, all we lost were about 10 photos and 20 books. And this was of many tens of thousands of files!I will admit that TCS was not cheap. Their services range between $500-$2000 per case, and ours was towards the upper end. However, our data would have been long gone without them, and I have zero regrets about the cost. (Many couples spend well over $1000 on wedding photos, and we were able to recover photos that spanned about 10 years of our life!)In all of my interactions with them, they were professional, prompt, and treated me with the utmost courtesy and respect. They provided numerous updates on my case and explained to me everything in as much detail as I was happy to hear. I am very thankful for their excellent work.
