Adam and Eve is THE BEST gift shop on planet Earth. Kevin and Romeo are welcoming, helpful, and approachable. You can easily find the perfect gift for anyone. The clothing, scarves, jewelry and accessories are unique and perfect for every occasion. Incense and the finest quality soaps fill the store with mouthwatering fragrance. BRAVO!

Shopped here on 5/11 with my mother, sister, and friend. There is a black cat that roams the store freely. As I shopped the cat came walking over to me and rubbed against my ankle in a friendly way. I bent down and pet it for a few seconds and it seemed to enjoy it. I stood back up to continue shopping and the cat meowed loudly at me. Thinking it wanted another pet I started reaching towards it and moved my hand no more than a few inches when the cat reared up on it's back legs and reached it's paw out and scratched my hand. I've had cats as pets before, this was not a playful gesture; it was a deliberate scratch, and the thing had claws about an inch long and razor sharp. I did not say anything to the owner, who had been behind the counter about 3 feet away and obviously heard the cat's loud meow, but when I showed my mother my bleeding hand she went and told the owner and asked if the cat had it's shots. He said it did, then my mom asked if he had anything to clean the cut with. He had hand sanitizer so I went over to use it, and instead of apologizing or asking if I was ok, he took one look at my hand and said "OH THAT'S NOTHING". I told him how the cat came over to me and let me pet him and then when I stood up it meowed and leaped up to scratch me and said I don't know why it would have done such a thing when it had wanted me to pet it a minute before. His exact response "BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT CATS DO". I said, "No, not really, not any cat I've ever known". His response: "HE SCRATCHES ME ALL THE TIME". I was speechless and pretty upset so I just quickly turned and left the store. . He never once apologized for the incident or showed any concern for me. How can someone have an animal roaming the store that by his own account scratches him, his OWNER, all the time and could potentially randomly scratch and injure another person for no reason ????? Imagine if I'd been a child... that would've been my face scratched instead of my hand. His carelessness to have such an animal inside his store, and total lack of concern for the fact that his cat injured me is disgusting. DO NOT TAKE CHILDREN HERE, AND BY ALL MEANS AVOID THE CAT.

Come for the cool stuff in the window, stay for the charming shop cat! Adam N Eve has beautiful sweaters, shirts, scarves, gloves, mittens, etc., very cool jewelry, and great little tchotchkes. They even have nice quality French-milled soaps. Only thing is they could use some expansion on their sizing. Eclectic clothing store in a town that keeps surprising me. Check it out!
