Someone came out on February 4 and did a comprehensive review of our needs (all new locks on outside doors, about 8 of them), and told me of the wonders of the modern locksmith (seriously, it's amazing how they can customize security, so that we could give a key that only works for a specific door, but the master keys work for all of them, in various combinations; then they [supposedly] keep a file and you can get a single door rekeyed, etc.). He even made four keys for one of the indoor rooms that needs a separate key while he was there. But they never came. A few days after the visit, I called and whoever answered said I'd get a bid by the end of the day. It's now April 2, and they never once contacted me. After several weeks, I called and the guy acted surprised and said someone would call me back within a day or two. A few weeks later I called again. A week or so ago I called and asked point-blank if they were too busy, or this was small potatoes for them, and again was reassured, "Oh, no, no, this is exactly what we do. Steve or I will call you within a day or two." I believe they do a good job when they do a job, but they are an entirely dysfunctional business at this point, completely ignoring us, not returning calls, no bid, no visit, no questions, no contact whatsoever. There must be something somewhat catastrophic going on there, or perhaps they are in some ridiculously major transition, but meanwhile if you need a key made and walk into the business I'm sure you'll be happy. If you need a job done go somewhere else. They aren't doing jobs, no matter how much they reassure you.

I was looking for a secure lock cylinder for the front door of an apartment I'm moving into. Although I didn't end up purchasing from Valley Forge Security Center, I spoke with with them on the phone. The person I spoke to was very knowledgeable and helped me understand the different kinds of cylinders, how the locking mechanisms worked from different brands, and the benefits of each kind. Not only that, the price was reasonable and what I'd expect from any other locksmith.
