They are the biggest crooks I've ever seen. I have a 100 pound tank I am being charged a $130.00 rental fee for a tank with a date code of 1993. I called and asked for a new tank and the 100 pound is no longer available so I told them give me the next size up. They said that the would have to do a site survey. I made an appointment and nobody showed up. When I called and questioned I was told the tech ran out of time. Half a days work lost for a no show. I made another appointment and he shows up and says yes the next size will work today I received a bill for $205.73

Cancelled my service today after 30+ years. Awful CS, simply Awful. I am shocked that there are actual "responses from the owner" because the people I have talked with over the past 8 months could care less. I wonder how much customer churn will force someone to realize that closing all of the local offices was the wrong decision. Please never choose Amerigas

As a provider of an essential utility, Amerigas should be held to a high standard. In outsourcing all customer service they have eliminated accountability on a local and national level and created a serious problem for their customers. After 17 years with Amerigas, our contract was changed to "Will Call" from "Automatic Delivery" without our consent, knowledge, or request. As a result, our tank ran dry. It has now been nine days that we have had no propane to cook our food or heat our house/water. All customer service is directed to a company in India that assures me my request is being prioritized, but nothing has changed. Were this the middle of winter my house would have sustained significant damage due to frozen pipes and my family would have had to move out. This could have been a threat to my family's wellbeing. Luckily for me, this issue is happening in the middle summer. Nevertheless, Amerigas is entirely at fault and woefully irresponsible in its lack of accountability and service to customers. I would change service providers in a heartbeat if it wouldn't cost me upwards of $5K to have the tanks switched out. Take note, if you are considering working with Amerigas do so with caution. If you have an alternative utility provider you can use, I would strongly suggest you do so. In my opinion, Amerigas is a negligent company.

Simply put the WORST customer service i have ever experienced. Made four calls today and got four different responses just to terminate my account. Prior experiences equally bad. Terrible billing issues. People at Amerigas both lie and simply hang up the phone . AVOID the company anyway you can.

I had a business account and a personal account with Amerigas for several years. I was no longer happy with their service and they were not willing to work with me. When I decided to leave, they made it very difficult and added on charges like, over 300$ to pick up their own tanks. When I reached out to customer service, it took them over 2 months to get back to me. Meanwhile they are adding on late charges. This company is too big to provide good service. Employees don't care. Buy your propane from one of the smaller local businesses.
Edit: Amerigas finally reached out to me. It took a bad Google review to get their attention but nothing changed. I stand by my original review.

When this propane service co was family owned and operated (Gas Service Company) in Walker, they were great to work with. In or around 2021 I believe, Amerigas acquired this nice family owned business. Since then I have been forced to communicate with a oversees phone service center, charged excessive and unnecessary fees for propane, haz mat and delivery. Overpriced tank rental fees as well. Also, I was once charged with a tank fill that I did not order or receive! We have security cameras on site to disprove this delivery as they explained that this was a courtesy fill! This was eventually removed from our bill. I also just found out that they have been over charging us by over $1.00 per gallon! It took me two years to figure this out as I had never had to purchase propane before and was new to this type of service. Propane service was something new to me because that is what came with the lake place we bought and I thought that it had just gone up over $1.00 per gallon because of covid. Long story, the way I found out we were being overcharged was I called to set up a "new" account and wanted to get a quote for propane. (New accounts are set up by speaking to people in America, go figure) Well the introductory rate was like $1.78 per gallon and then it would go to around $2.00 per gallon after the first fill! So then a called the delivery request line (somewhere where English is not there primary language) and requested a quote to fill all 3 of our tanks. They said it would be $3.20 per gallon!!! They had to really scramble around for some hollow meaningless explanation to the price difference when I confronted them on this. I then demanded I be charged what others would normally be charged or I would cancel my service and the guy I was speaking with said this was another department and needed to verify my account even after I had given my account number. I was put on hold and never received a response.
There is still a few really great family owned propane service company's that are much easier, friendly, and less expensive to work with. Amerigas, NO WAY! what ever you name yourself! Now you may print this review out, have your corporate pin heads read it, and use it to rewrite the scrip for your oversees phone service center to solicit alternative hollow responses to customers needs.
My advice, search elsewhere for your propane needs.

False billing that I’ve attempted to contact customer service about multiple times. Despite promised return calls they never happen and now despite an active dispute number they’ve sent my account to collections… over erroneous charges for services that were never rendered.

Hands down worst company I have ever interacted with. I have 2 better business bureau complaints against them (the only 2 I've felt the need to file). They let my tank run dry in a pennsylvania January leaving my wife and small children with no heat or hot water for almost 2 weeks. I couldn't get a propane on my property because they outsourced the call center to India and the trucks and call center do not have direct contact and there is no way to reach the drivers any other way. Then when I switched providers like any sane person would they billed me 320$ to remove thier own rusted tank from my property. This is company that does not care that all their ratings are F and all thier reviews are 1 star. All they seem to understand is lawsuits.

We've been loyal customers of Amerigas for quite some time now, relying on their services to keep our spa warm during the chilly winters here in Orlando, Florida. Typically, we have our 100-gallon tank filled annually, and this year was no exception. However, on January 24th, when they came to refill the tank, we were in for an unpleasant surprise. The invoice totaled around $500, noticeably higher than usual, but understandable given the rise in fuel prices. Two weeks after the refill, when we finally decided to enjoy our spa, we were met with disappointment. The tank was empty. Understandably frustrated, I reached out to their customer service department, only to find myself communicating with representatives based in India. While I have no qualms with their location, it's disheartening to feel disconnected from the issue at hand.Despite my efforts and nearly a month passing, there's been no resolution. The representatives I've spoken with insist that we've somehow used up the gas and are now on the hook for another refill. This assertion is absurd, given that we only use the spa for six months out of the year. It's incredibly frustrating to encounter such dismissiveness and lack of accountability. At this point, it's evident that Amerigas has no intention of rectifying this situation. We've been left with no choice but to seek services elsewhere. Their abysmal customer service and apparent disconnect between their international representatives and the realities of the U.S. market make them a company to avoid at all costs. We'll be sure to steer clear of Amerigas in the future and advise others to do the same.

Amerigas - They Lie, They Cheat, They Steal. This is the THIRD time I have been OVER CHARGED. I ordered 200 gallons. The driver, when the delivery was made, told me I had called THREE times and ordered 200 gallons each time. FALSE. I called once.Clearly, their overseas office gets paid based on the orders they take, or make up.I am going to file two of these charges with the FRAUD department at my bank. I am filing these charges as FRAUD with the State of Montana. I am filing these FRAUD charges with the FBI FRAUD office in Billings.Amerigas, STOP cheating your customers.People, stop signing up with Amerigas as they will Lie to you, Cheat you, and STEAL from you.I have my call logs showing my ONE call to order propane. I also have the 24 phone calls to deal with the other two fraud charges to my debit card.

This is the second poor review I'm leaving. I'm an employee and they still can't get it right. I've been requesting my bill be corrected multiple times since September and here we are still nothing. The best part is after my first review they replied requesting I email customer service to have this issue corrected that was December and even after emailing NO ONE has yet to respond!

Absolutely the worst fuel company to deal with., and the worst call center. Took over 3 months to get one set of tanks removed. They sent 1 person over while knowing that they needed two multiple times.I accidentally reached a non Call Center rep, (Heather) who accomplished in a few minutes what I couldn't in 3 months.I received a bill the day after the pickup was made. I was due a credit for the propane in the tanks. They have not processed the credit though the call center it was being processed. I now get notices that my bill is overdue. I am due a credit that is at least double the amount of the bill. You can not talk toa person ofher than in the Call Center , they don't respond to email or letters sent by mail. Avoid this company.Update 12/28/2023After posting my review I was contacted by Amerigas and the problem with my account has been resolved. I woukd like to thank Tracy in getting this matter resolved.I am upping my rating from 1 to 3 stars. In my case the problem was not being able to get in touch with anyone who could resolve problems. All my problems could have been avoided with a direct contact emiil or phone. At the minimum, the Call Center should give out a number or email address when a customer needs help and they can't answer or provide followup. As of now, i still feel the Call Center is worthless.
