Dr Pote is very thorough on his exams. He gets us in for emergency appointments same day. He cares deeply for his patients. He handles them lovingly. His prices cant be beat. Top notch and would highly recommend.

Dr. Pote and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about animals and it shows in our visits. He has been our family vet for over 30 years and we are blessed to have someone that we trust to have cared for 8 of our pets. I highly recommend this Vet!!

Dr. Pote came highly recommended and has never let me down. I would call him something of an old fashion country vet who is pleasant, but focused more on bonding with animals than owners. He doesn’t rely on computers, rather his extensive medical knowledge to care for animals instead. He’s a gift to our region, and I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else!

Not a good vet for cats!! After moving to PA we took our dogs to Dr Pote and he was great with them. He was NOT so great with cats. He didnt handle my cats in a manner I was comfortable with - a bit aggressive and lacking compassion. Was hoping for a peaceful end for my one cat who suddenly fell ill but he screamed out in pain the last few minutes of his life bc of the injection method Dr Pote decided to use. In the 10 cats ive cared for over the years, Ive never witnessed an animal being euthanized in such a brutal way. It scarred me and I wish my cat didnt suffer in her final moments. Husband debating if to keep the dogs at Willowdale, its a small clinic and good for anxious dogs, but the cats will 100% be switching vets.

My dogs receive excellent care here. We tried several local vets before finding Willowdale and we won't be switching anytime soon.

We have been taking our Labradoodle to see Dr. Pote for over three years and we have found him to be an excellent veterinarian. He is knowledgeable, kind, gentle, and our "Shadow" loves going to see him for check-ups even though Dr. Pote gives him shots. Of course Dr. Pote has a treat handy for Shadow when he works with him and that might help explain the love. But it also helps explain Dr. Pote's Knowledge of how to care for animals.

I normally try not to leave bad reviews but I felt it necessary because of our history with this vet clinic. And, I want others to be warned. My family has been taking our animals to Willowdale off and on for over 15 years. We stopped about 7 years ago or so because we weren't happy with the treatment given to our sick kitten and the doctor was very harsh when it came to euthanize our kitten.

My wife and I took every pet we have ever had to Dr Pote. He is not only the most dedicated Veterinary Doctor I have ever know, but he truly cares about the well being of the pet, and has gone the extra mile without any concern of any inconvenience to him in any way, shape or form. I recall once where our yellow lab Molly had surgery on her leg by another vet in the area and it became infected. I took her to Dr Pote to look at it for me, and he identified it had become infected. He called the other vet to tell him it needed to be treated, and was told that it would need to wait until the next day. Dr Pote told him "never mind, I will take care of it myself". He immediately operated to clean the infection to save Molly's life, and NEVER held his hand out for payment. He did what he felt needed to be done to save her life without concern of the almighty dollar. Thank God for Dr Pote and kind people like him. He is indeed one-in-a-million and we will never forget his kindness and caring for our beloved pets.

We decided to try the vet again because his prices are very reasonable and we liked the idea of a small practice. WELL, the vet must not be a fan of cats. My one cat he misdiagnosed the weight loss as the cat just getting older and said I was overreacting (if you know anything about cats you know they just dont randomly lose weight)... I took him to another vet to discover he was in near kidney failure, extremely high calcium levels, and FIP. If I stuck with what Willowdale said, my cat wouldve been dead by now. The 2nd cat we took to him was an elderly cat that we rescued .... now she was a VERY old cat but we were trying to get her peace during her last year alive. When she fell and hurt herself, we called Willowdale Vet right away to see if we could bring her in for treatment. The vet answered the phone and asked us what we wanted him to do about it..... but ISNT THAT WHY IM CALLING THE VET? FOR HELP!?! Anyway, the vet had an open appointment in the afternoon, we brought the cat in and the treatment given to the cat will haunt me. He was rough with her frail body, just dropped her on the table making her meow in pain. The vet didn't offer any kind of treatment or any suggestions. He simply kept asking what we wanted to do. The only option he really gave us was to euthanize the cat....no fluids....no steroids... nothing. We ended up euthanizing her because I (yes, ME with no help from the vet) thought we had no other options. When he was euthanizing her, he was VERY harsh and caused her a lot of pain. The poor cat was weak and she jumped out of her carrier trying to attack the vet because of how harsh he was handling her and stabbing her with the needles. Like I said, the mistreatment towards this elderly cat will haunt me. (I wish I did a second opinion on this cat instead of euthanizing her). So please, if you have a cat please consider going to another vet. It may be time for this vet to retire at Willowdale. It took me 3 cats to realize that Willowdale is not the vet clinic for me... I need a vet who is humane, cares for animals, and wants to help them live instead of belittling their owners for caring. I mean hell, the receptionist cared more than the vet.
