Room was very outdated and in poor condition except the beds were very comfortable. We had traveled all night the previous night returning from Europe and needed a good night's sleep. At 6:45 AM construction workers started hammering on the walls. This was a terrible experience for us. I was really appalled that the Hilton would still require that we pay the full one-night room price when we did not get a full night's rest. No other compensation was ever offered. From what I could see, Hilton has really changed over the years.Rooms: Room was very outdated. Room quality was like a Motel 6.

Rooms showing age, we were told the hotel is beginning to renovate the rooms, room did not have body wash (shower bottle empty) or regular coffee, I had to call down to recieve both. TV did not turn on, ?, needed assistance from front desk, problem with remote, watched the NYE ball drop, but because of TV issues next morning, we could not watch Mummers parade. We will NOT return to this hotel and seek out another hotel that offer the longwood package, we are done with the Hilton Garden Inn Kennett SquareNearby activities: Longwood gardens 1 mile away

Stayed one night 12/29 front desk check in was fine. I asked about the grill menu and was told that they were not swerving any meals because of renovations. When leaving later that evening people were eating in the area and there was a person cooking. Also, all the carpet was FILTY in the halls, elevator and the room, really gross. The furniture in the sitting area in the room was also dirty from use. The bathroom was very clean. The heating equipment was noisey.Nearby activities: Good location for Longwood Gardens

We chose this hotel for it's proximity to Longwood Gardens - location is fantastic with plenty of food, shopping and attractions nearby. The staff are also great and so thoughtfulBut the rooms leave plenty to be desired. The lobby and shared space is bright, clean and freshly updated so it was a shock to walk in our room and see peeling wallpaper, carpet worn down flat, water stains on the walls and ceilings and beds that make sleeping on the floor preferable. The bathroom is clean but very old and dated, hot water barely lasted 5 minutes. This bed has done damage to my back and I have only been here two nights - I can't wait to check out this morning. As much as I love the location, I don't think I would stay here again or recommend it to anyone

My hubby and I stayed here while visiting Longwood gardens. The staff were professional and friendly. The bacon and fried potatoes at breakfast were delish. Soo many choices on the tele! I would stay here again if ever in the area.

Rooms were nice and clean aside from a weird hole under the carpet that I kept hitting my toe on. I liked there was microwaves and mini fridge and breakfast you could pay for and a pool. The reason for the low rating is because I see to have gotten bed bugs, they said the room was checked and it was clear but I only stayed one night, woke up with 8 bites on one arm that became infected and the doctor said they were not spiders or mosquitos and most likely bed bugs. Also it took a very long time for anyone to show up at the front desk to check me in or out and I could not find a bell or any way to alert someone. If it wasn't for these horrible bites and the long time at the front desk I would rate it a 5/5 for how nice it looked and the good location.

Room was perfect! But very disappointed to discover the $17 charge per person for breakfast we believed to be free. No indication it wasn't the usual free breakfast buffet as at most US hotels, and when we checked in the staff member simply said, "Breakfast is 6-10am". It was nothing special, just the typical breakfast buffet offered at every other hotel (for free).

No hot water, reservations were a mess, and the staff rudely told me to "try again next year" when I encountered issues.First off, the wedding block wasn't set up correctly so I couldn't make the reservation online. I called several times, but was told only 2 people could handle my request, and to keep calling back to catch them. Looking at my call log, I tried 8 times before I reached them. They got my reservation in, but not at the wedding-block rate. I found that out on the night of my stay.Fast forward to the stay... No hot water. I ran the shower for a few minutes to see if it would get warm, but it never did. When I told the front desk I was told to, "try again next year and maybe it will work," as if it was a funny joke. I don't know about you, but when I spend a few hundred dollars on a hotel stay, I expect hot water. No accommodations were made or offered.I'll also mention that the elevators are currently out, so we had to take the stairs. The stairs are really far away from the entrance.Don't stay here. Pay a few extra dollars to go to one of the many hotels down the street with hot water, decent staff, etc. This place was horrible every step of the way, and Hilton won't do right by their guests.Rooms: The rooms don't have hot water, so enjoy paying the price without getting the basics. If you raise it to staff, they'll tell you to "try again next year and maybe it will work!"Nearby activities: Get drinks at the Applebees. You'll need them to deal with how bad this hotel is.Walkability: You'll do a lot of walking to get to your room, as the elevators are out. Enjoy a long stroll to the back of the building with all your bags, climbing the stairs, and snaking your way to your room. If you get sweaty along the way, enjoy a cold shower since the rooms don't have hot water.Noteworthy details: No hot water.

This hotel is very worn. During our stay, the elevator did not work and neither did the TV. The wallpaper in our room was literally peeling off the wall. The bathroom light was full of bugs and the shower was torn in several places and did not appear to be a new problem.

We booked a block of rooms at this hotel for a wedding this past weekend and there were issues from the start. At first they couldn’t confirm that the block was even created the first time I tried to make a reservation. Second time I called I couldn’t get them to confirm my room reservation. Both times I had to fight with an automated system before waiting on hold between 5-10 minutes. Show up day of hoping for some luck and it turns out they put me in another couples room who was sharing it with friends from out of town. They eventually had their room moved but most of the staff seemed baffled by their own incompetence. Most of the other guests had some similar issues from what we all gathered. Oh and the elevator was broken so older guests had to take the stairs to the second floor. We had our breakfasts comped for the poor experience but didn’t stop them from reminding us that that didn’t include tip. The rooms were clean and fine for what it’s worth. Surprised that a Hilton who’s probably used to a wedding parties coming in was so disorganized at nearly step of the way.
