They do not know how to do dip/powder manicures. I've had dip powder done at multiple other salons last more than three weeks. My dip from here did not even last a week. My thumbs were the first thing to chip after 4 days, so I went back to have them fixed. I chose the same color, however it came out completely different than my other 8 nails- most likely because the technicians had different techniques. For example, while they were doing my bails they had me put my fingers under the UV light- the whole point of dip powder is no UV damage. I pointed this out and they ignored it and said they were doing it right. After I had my thumbs fixed, the other 8 nails chipped two days later... Paying $50 for dip powder that barely lasts a week, that is done incorrectly, is just terrible. I had been a loyal customer but will not be back.

My new regular nail salon! Clean, comfortable, relaxing, and enough chairs + technicians so the wait is never long (if there's a wait at all) and patrons don't feel crammed. They have a mid-week discount on manicure + pedicure services which is a nice perk. I went the other afternoon expecting a long appointment and I got a gel manicure and pedicure (with warm oil callous treatment) in under an hour! To have a quality experience, not feel rushed, and leave perfectly polished hands and feet is unheard of! The owner has always been present for my visits, so I can only assume she takes an active role in managing the business. She is so lovely--just like the rest of the staff!

Fail turned fabulous! Just moved to the area from NJ & was having a hard time finding a new nail salon. Was quickly serviced to a pleasant gel mani and pedi. My manicurist was the sweetest, gave the best massage and even helped me switch my shoes as to not mess up my pedi. Unfortunately my coral nails turned green 2 days later and was seriously disappointed. I went back in expecting to have a hard time getting them fixed but a woman that seemed like the owner helped me out. They turned out even better the second time around. Great customer service. I'll def be back.

They give great pedicures and even use the hot stones for it. The gel manicures are not worth the money though. Within a week, they start to peel and chip. Gel nails are supposed to last two weeks. I'm not sure how their regular manicures are, but based on how the gel manicures don't last long, I would not recommend them for a regular manicure either.

I have had a couple of good experiences at Polaris in the past where they've even stayed open a little past closing in order to do my nails. However, I recently when in looking to get my first dip powder manicure ever. I showed the woman helping me, who I believe is the store owner/manager, and she said that they didn't carry that color. I told her that I didn't care if it was the exact company/color exactly, I was just looking for something similar - a pale opaque pink. When my manicure began, this nail lady was talking on her cell phone through her headphones as for the duration of the experience. While she was working on my nails and chatting away on her phone, she was also getting g up periodically to check people out at the register which would get her stopped for at least 3 minutes each time - annoying! Then after she dipped my nails, I wasn't sure if she was done after one coat since I had never gotten dip before, but this pink color was very faint. She began sealing the manicure and polishing it off aaaaand it turned out to be entirely see through, like I could see the whites in my nails it was so sheer. When I told the manicurist that this color was nothing like what I asked for, she developed a huge attitude and started getting loud and snippy with me, repeatedly asking me what I wanted then instead? I told her I was initially looking for a color similar to OPI Bubble Bath so then she went and grabbed a bottle of Bubble Bath gel nail polish (not dip). She then painted bubble bath UV gel polish over my completed dip manicure!!! The entire thing was completely ruined! After a couple of days, the gel layer she painted on top of my dip manicure began separating and chipping and completely falling apart. When I went to my usually nail salon to have this catastrophe fixed, my manicurist made me swear I'd never let anyone do that to my nails again since it was so much stuck heavily to my nails it was hard to remove safely! Oh and by the way, after all of this, this woman had the audacity to charge me $50 for this ridiculous manicure!! I would have never paid that amount had I known the cost beforehand. Be careful here...there can be good experiences at times but there can also be very terrible, un-relaxing experiences as well. It doesn't help that they're also wildly overpriced... Nail Spa Bar on 18th and chestnut has gel mani AND regular pedicure combo for only $45!

I literally made a yelp account to write this review because I was so displeased. This was the second time I got my nails done here, but the first time I got dip powder at Polaris. I made an appointment, and someone started taking my nail polish off. After a while Amy sat down to do my nails. She did not say hello or anything, and was huffing as if she was annoyed to be doing my nails. She was yanking my wrist and literally pushing my fingers away in an extremely rude manner. She did not let me see a choice of colors. She simply took out the box of dip powder's and asked "What color?". How am I supposed to know what colors they have? I asked for black. She finds what looks like black, and looked at the name and decided it was good enough. After the rude yanking of my hands and fingers continued, my nails were done. They looked fine. However, when I went outside and saw them in the sun, they were BLUE. I cannot believe I wasted $50 on a manicure that I wanted to get off immediately. Overall, the manicure turned out fine, but for $50 it was not worth the experience. I was very uncomfortable during the duration of the experience. Very unprofessional and rude, but 2 stars instead of 1 because it is a decent enough manicure...for now.

I've always had such a great experience getting my acrylics done at this nail salon! The technicians are so sweet and put in extra care to make sure you really like the shape, length, and color you've chosen as they're going, which I really appreciate. They clearly know what they're doing and put in a lot of effort. The acrylics I've gotten done here have always lasted around 3 weeks or longer--and I can be very rough/clumsy with my hands so I'm used to breaking nails much sooner. They always make my short fingers look so much longer lol Thank you, May, for a great manicure today :)

I was recently there for a pedicure. It was very emotional for me, since I hadn't had a pedicure since the last thing my sister and I did together was get matching pedis. The ladies were so very, very kind to me!!! My toes look lovely and it was a delightful experience.

If you thought whoa those are green nails, you'd be correct! Those are supposed to be dark grey nails. If you thought there's a chip in her nails she must've had that manicure for a long time, you'd be incorrect. I had this gel polish put on 8 days ago. I had a chip in a nail (not the one shown) and went for a repair 2 days after original application. Apparently their polish is less than ideal, it chipped and turned GREEN in less than a week. I'd recommend trying somewhere else. I'd go back to have them do something about the green but frankly it's not worth the effort. I'll pay full price for a new one somewhere else.

Best pedicure I've ever had and I think in my life I've had over 100 total. This one stands above the rest, it was truly incredible. You won't be disappointed

Amy, the owner, is absolutely horrible and so rude! Stay away from this crazy moody woman! I went there for legs and Brazilian waxing. First, I thought she must be having a bad day so I was being very understanding because you know we all have bad days sometimes. But then she started to rush me and push me!!!!! while waxing and pretended that everything was fine. She also burnt my skin so many times that I am still hurting. Don't ever go to this place for legs, Brazilian or eyebrow waxing. It's a nightmare over there! Although I like their mani and pedi services, after what I experienced with Amy, I am never ever going back to this place ever again!

I am giving 1 star because I have to. I went there with my girlfriends and we were very disappointed with their service and seemed like they were in hurry to get it over with and because of that I got hurt twice because that nail lady took a chunk of my skin. One of my girlfriend had to redo her manicure because the first one she got it done was not up-to the mark. And for my gel mani-pedi I was charged $80 but it was not mentioned on their price list and when we asked the owner gave a very rude gesture and she practically almost screamed. Not coming back here to insult myself and paying for it. This place sucks!!

A flat out fail. I went in because my usual nail salon couldn't take me and I needed to get two nails fixed before the start of the week. They didn't have the same colors as my other nail salon so I had to get a gel polish change as well. 2 acrylic nail repairs and gel polish change later: I'm $45 poorer(which is far more expensive than my 2 regular nail salons)!!! I'm so disappointed, I'm going to have to go back to my other nail salon tomorrow to get the polish removed. The acrylic nails she repaired are bumpy and poorly shaped and the polish has bubbles in it!!! On top of that, the woman (Amy) who did my nails insulted the job that my other nail salon did!!! Really lady?!?! I will never be back.

Acrylic nails are 70 dollars here, 90 dollars if you add gel wtf are you kidding me?! This is SO OVER PRICED - especially for the location....They just changed their menu to make it more expensive. On top of that the lady owner Amy is so so so rude. I will never be coming back here again.
