This place has turned into a joke and the direction they are heading in is down. I have recently found out that the manager; who has dedicated her life in support of the animals, has decided to step down due to certain employees and board members actions. This is a shame because, she is the sole reason so many people donate and support the shelter. Although the new president is doing her best, she is constantly over ruled and has her hands tied from the previous president. The previous president was Susie Yaich, and she is a horrible representation of CCFOA. Her and her dimwitted followers are going to be the reason this shelter will have to close their doors. Not only is she a bad representation, but she is also a horrible human being. Anyone who has ever had the joy of speaking to her, understands completely. She and her minions, along with some of the other board members, absolutely do not have the shelters best interest in mind. They are only there for attention and only come out of the shadows for recognition of someone else's hard work. I could go on for hours about the horrible direction the shelter is heading in, along with the idiots pulling the strings, however horrible people like that are not worth my time. So if you currently support CCFOA, you might want to tell them how you feel about all the negative changes taking place.

I visited the location with the cats and not the one with the dogs. This place is wonderful, the animals are not kept in cages. They have rooms. Giant interactive, walk around, climb on things, look out the window rooms. For the sheer number of cats they have it does not have that stereotypical shelter smell. Even though I wanted to take every single one home with me I know that the animals there are not neglected.

I recently took a stray there that I had been caring for but couldn’t keep myself (highly allergic). The facility is lovely and the cats are well cared for. I was sad to take him as I had become slightly attached but felt he was in the best place possible. Please donate to this wonderful organization…I did

They take wonderful care of the kitties. They make sure they go to good homes.. Strongly suggest adopting here, and if you've lost a kitty, go and see if it's there. You can also get t shirts, donate much needed cat litter, and food. And check for any events.

Very clean shelter & very friendly staff. No matter how busy, everyone is knowledgeable to answer your concerns or questions. Best of all, if your ready to adopt and want to give your love to that special kitty, visit the free roam room, your heart will melt when you interact with all! This is Sammy, super friendly, very lovey, loves to play!

While I love that this shelter is free range for the animals, I am totally dissatisfied with the customer service at this facility. I was just yelled at about 15 minutes ago in a very condescending manner by the acting "manager" because they couldn't locate an email they requested from me. After resending and speaking with them several times, I called and was directed to the manager. She never introduced herself so I have no idea of her name (very unprofessional). Once on the phone, she essentially tried to insult my intelligence because I accidently missed a question on their application. When I informed her that the staff went over my application after taking it and never showed me the missed question, she began speaking very rudely about how I had to have read the entire application since I signed it, so the missed question was my fault. She even tried to insinuate that she doesn't have to be polite because her job isn't customer service - both of which are completely inaccurate. It's so sad that beautiful places set up to re-home these poor misplaced cats is run by people who lack patience, compassion and accountability. I explained to her that some people may have vision problems, which I do. I'm disgusted and highly upset by the way I was treated. All I wanted to do was get my special needs daughter a new pet for her 2nd birthday since our kitten Anna Nicole was taken by neighbors after getting outside ? I even thought we lucked up and found 2 fur babies (brothers ?) to welcome to our family. Unfortunately, instead of giving shelter animals a second chance, I'll visit local pet stores in hopes of being treated with respect. I'm so disappointed and will be contacting the society that oversees this shelter. They are in dire need of some new administrative staff.

I was a guest of a friend who was picking out a new companion. The staff are incredibly sweet and really helpful when picking out a forever friend. I love that the cats have lots of space to be themselves. The adoption fee was absolutely reasonable. What a fantastic group!

I got my Buck there. He and his brother had been brought in together but because Buck had an eye infection in which he had to have his eye removed,, his brother was adopted long before Buck.. It was clear that he was feral when found & not a family pet because of how he reacted to me on a 1 on 1 basis (I had rescued another kitten in the last 6 Mos that had been feral & you can tell the difference adopting a kitten/cat from a loving home & one from a negligent home). Thankfully Buck was very much loved while at Carbon County Friends of Animals, which helped him to adjust to family living quicker than he would have had he just been fed & his litter changed, it still took almost 2mos but it could have been that he never adapted to living with a family. So major kudos to the volunteers for the love shown to the hard headed cats as well as the friendliest! Thank you for the brother to my Tiger!

My mom adopted her little ginger female cat she calls Katie on 11/21/21. CCFOA was wonderful to deal with. Everyone was kind and attentive. We were so impressed with this cat shelter because everything was extremely clean, smelled good, and best of all there were no cages! The cats free roam in different large designated rooms and are provided an absolute abundance of beds, cat trees, toys and also food and clean litter boxes. Thank you to the shelter for all you do to provide and care so excellently for the homeless. My Christmas wish is for every cat and kitten to find their perfect furever home and to be loved as much as Katie is! ???

Great place to adopt cats. They truly love all the animals that they care for. Excellent place give a sweet fur baby his or her forever home. One staff member was grumpy and unfriendly.
