I am saddened to have to leave this review; because Marry works very hard and goes out of her way, but she needs help with wages, so she can hirer more work ethic people. I have left five stars for this store in the beginning with all the hiccups and all, but Marry runs the d@•* store by itself and that is too much for one person. She had to hire whoever she can get. Tonight blew my mind and I have to say I have let a lot go, because I knew they were all new hires and frankly there is a new face working there all the time. An employee Amy is one of her best, most polite, over the top people person, most genuine, generous, caring, hard working, and dedicated to doing her best to make sure the store runs as smoothly and how Marry’s asks it to be run, even when Marry is not there. I don’t know if, Danny works there any longer but he might not always look happy (lol) but he was hard working and would stop what he was doing in order to help a customer, but I thought that was what customer service was about, not with most of this new lot that has been hired. I have tried with the new hires. We had to actually start shopping other places rather than the Dollar General in Jefferson and it is sad because I don’t like giving bad reviews, but I only do it when thing just cannot be overlooked any longer (stating I gave it time and lots of it). I didn’t not know that these new employees could not go and grab something from the back that the store carries and the shelves where bare. I did not know they are no longer allowed to retrieve something like a 6 pack of soda (bottles) off of a pallet that was in plain sight. They said, well we have the 2 liters. OMG, really!!! I guess, they really don’t want people to come back to that store… Oh man, it is just sad, because we really like Marry and came close to a lot of the past employees and we believe in keeping business within our small town, but I can’t shop at a place that treats their paying customers in that manner.
