My dad is in the ER having trouble breathing, in AFib and the first concern was that my mom brother and I were all there and that was ONE too many people that one of us had to leave...as my dad could be taking his last breath. I understand rules, but there are exceptions. And they were not busy at all. It's very sad that healthcare is losing compassion.

Please educate the people answering the phone of what time medical records open the operator sent me to the front desk and the front desk told me to call medical center. This is not how it works! Hope you don't have calls monitored! If someone could provide the correct information to the staff.

Spent some time here last night and it was the best experience I’ve ever had in an ER! They took me straight back to be seen and straight into a room within 5 minutes of walking in the door - I saw a doctor right away, got my X-rays and other tests done fairly quickly and I was very satisfied with the entire experience! Everyone was very caring, friendly and helpful too. No complaints!

Never go here. I went in at 5:20 with severe stabbing pains in my chest and I sat in the waiting room for four hours before I decided to leave. Whenever I informed them I wanted to leave, the nurses met me with attitude and rudeness. If you want somewhere that'll actually see you in a timely fashion and without attitude, save your time and go to Upper Saint Claire
They will claim they are so busy and then the nurses will just be chatting in the waiting area. This ER is a joke.

I have had pretty good experiences at this ER. Some of the other reviews are complaining of waiting, but, I do think that’s to be expected at the ER. I have waited hours upon hours, it’s not fun, but at least you know you’re in the right place if something goes critically wrong, and typically if you’re not the one they’re rushing to see that’s a good sign. I’ve seen Dr. Goldwasser and Dr. Lioban on nights my heart palpitations are bad. This is an ongoing issue I am having that I am also seeing cardiology for, usually I can ride them out at home but sometimes they just get too intense. Both doctors treat me with kindness and compassion, and make sure I am safe to leave. Can it all sometimes be frustrating, no answers ? Yes, but I do believe they do all they can do for the emergency room. Thanks for always taking good care.

Jeffersons ER is VERY slow. They will send you back and forth between the back and waiting room numerous times too. After being in the waiting for almost 3 hours I decided that i was ready to go. I had a CT scan around 1:50p and here we are after 3pm and still waiting for the results. The physician in the ER, Dr. GoldwASSer was VERY unprofessional. He was annoyed because I did not want to wait in the ER Department, so someone needed to remove my IV so I could leave..which they procrastinated in doing, so I left.
Anyway, before I left the ER He said that since the ER is busy he had to come in earlier and he is supposed to work the night shift. He sounded miserable, but HE chose to come in to work. He could have told them no. It was as if he wanted to be recognized or wanted a cookie because he came in.. Many people come in to work earlier than planned, but it is life. Then he asked why I came to the ER...I've told 5 people already! He also told me that I was not waiting long in the ER. Everyone has their own opinion on "length," and 3 hours is too long! He and I were going back and forth because he was telling me how I should feel...so I was done with him. Who is he to tell me how I should feel???
I do not recommend him at all! He should not be a doctor/physician whatever he is. I knew I should have went to Mercy
Hospital instead. Needless to say, I will not be back to this ER!

ER department is so dysfunctional. July 22, '23. I called 412 Doctors to find a new gastro doc. I have Idiopathic Gastroparesis with stomach pacemaker. Due to issues, they asked if I would speak to their RN, who after speaking with me called an ambulance. Few test, take stool softener, go home. I got worse and returned to different staff and 5 hour wait before seeing a PA. 2 failed enimias later. Go home, stool softener, you are constipated. Are these people just interested in helping certain illnesses? Show up with a fairly rare one, DO NOT Expect help.
NO, Expect to be treated like you know nothing about the disease you have lived with since 2009 and they only read about in passing so you can go home. Second visit heart monitor continuously going of as my heart rate consistently continues to fail below 50.
Stop bothering the medical doctors in the ER.
Update: Tuesday return 2pm-5pm walk out. Show up 2pm, 3:45 have not seen ANYONE. I call for nurse. Who only spoke over the speaker. When was Dr. coming. Was led to believe shortly. >> 4:50 nurse comes in to stock tray, does not even acknowledge I'm in room. 5pm I got dressed. Male nurse jumped in front of me. I have to sign that I am refusing to see Dr. Nurse at desk pulled him over. He says I can go, as "They never assigned me to a doctor." Good thing I had phone on for all of this. I make it to check out to stop my billing. They have the audacity to ask my to stay as another Dr is about to come in....

on JULY 16 2024 i went to ER by ambulance. Breathing problems, possible heart problems, and injured swollen lower part of let and concern was possible blood clot in lungs, requested CT scan by my doctor. Well They inserted needles for test and IV. Then rolled in Xray machine which I questioned since getting CT scan. IT NEVER happened, i kept asking...then then they decided I was finished, no CT scan. Went to my cardiologist next day and told him, he now wants doppler test and said they should have done the CT scan as planned. This was SO WRONG!!! My leg was swollen, hot, black and blue from a fall and they ignored it. I will take this further. I know it happened before and turned out patient did have blood clots!

I was there a few weeks ago sitting with my mom and the one worker named Tiffany S was extremely unprofessional. She is rude to her coworkers. She was very aggressive towards my mom and has a foul mouth with her swearing. This is the closest hospital to us but I will make sure none of my friends or family go to this ER until this woman is retrained with how to act like a decent human being or she is fired. Shame on you Jefferson Hospital for allowing this behavior.

I just spent 6 days at this hospital. I started in the ER and ended up being on several different floors during that time as I needed X-rays and an MRI and then back surgery. I want to say my experience was absolutely amazing. I was blown away by how every single person I met in every department was so nice to me and caring and did everything I needed at an efficient pace. The nurses who came into my rooms were all wonderful and were easy to joke around with while they took great care of me. They answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable as they kept giving me my pain meds on time. The cafeteria food was really good. They had a good vegetarian menu for me. Dr.Myers who did my surgery had great bedside manners and explained everything that I was going through thoroughly and stopped by room daily to see how I was doing. I was blown away from how great of an experience I had despite being in so much pain from sciatica. I fully believe I'm now on the road to recovery and will be feeling better soon. I strongly recommend this hospital. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

I came by ambulance at 2:20am. With back pain that I couldn't drive myself here. Why ems or the hospital say to the ems that they where full. I arrived no later than 245am. When I got into the er I was told to be taken back to triage and was placed into a non reclining sitting chair. I sat there until 5:15 am. I was in extreme pain and the first nurse I saw came in around 5:20am. I expressed my concerns and he gave me "oh well they'll be in whenever". Left. I looked put and saw his lazy self sit right back down, prop his legs up and pull out his phone. He never told the doctor. Then at 5:40 I got fed up and asked to leave and also asked about a ride home since I came by ambulance and didn't have a dollar to my name. I was told if I want a ride home I HAVE to be seen or it's up to me. Wait..what? I came by ambulance, your staff is lazy, unprofessional, and you have no doctors on over nights? We'll that's what the charging nurse told me "oh we only have one doctor on. So wait or you'll have to find your own way home. K." So I snapped back with So what your telling me is I've been here since 230am and have seen 1 nurse that did nothing. Then your going to bill me hundreds of dollars for a visit I left because your staff is lazy and rude. Then I ask for a ride home and I'm told no? Then I call your "Patient Caregivers" who on your site is there for every Patients needs.. what a joke that is too. Called that and the lady told me the charge nurse makes the rules. Trust me. Don't come here.
As a matter of fact, that it comes to mind. I was here about 10 years ago. They did the same thing and it took the doctor 2 hours to see me. Once he did, I could tell the service was highly lacking and walked out. I just moved back to the area and forgot about how bad this place really is. Oh its 6:20am and I'm sitting outside trying to figure a way home since they left me out here and told me since I left I wasn't allowed to sit in the er.

THE MOST REDICULOUS PARKING POLICY... $2 CASH ONLY. SO IF YOU DON'T CARRY CASH AND DON'T WANT TO BE AGGRAVATED DON'T COME TO THIS HOSPITAL. IF THEY NEED YOUR $2 THAT BAD THEN IT'S LIKELY NOT A PROFITABLE OR GOOD PLACE TO COME. NOT TO MENTION IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO HANDLE THE ADVANCED TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF A TICKET OR CREDIT CARD SYSTEM FOR PARKING..... THEN AGAIN PROBABLY NOT A WELL RUN HOSPITAL.
